When the past speaks

Cassandra could not agree with this plan as she had already spoken to Alaric Bennett, which gave her shivers. Still, this was the only chance they had.

Both the professor and Alexander were looking at her with hope in their eyes and, strangely enough, she wasn't scared to take up the risk, as if she had already experienced all this.

The professor excused himself in the name of a call, leaving Alexander to convince her. He went outside and picked up the call.

" What do you think you are doing, Damion? I told you to heal Alexander not to worsen his condition. Don't think you can do as you please just because you are the only one beside me who knows the truth. " He commanded.

On the other hand, Damion howled with laughter. " I pity you, Mason Rochefort. Do you know how good it feels to have control over someone's emotions? Oh ! how would you? You are just running around to save your loved ones."

" Don't cross your limits, Damion Joseph ! "

" And what if I do, Professor Rochefort? What do you think will happen if your dear nephew learns about his past life? Guess what's more shocking, would he be silent if he got to know that you hid that truth for years from him. "

Somewhere even Mason felt as if he was completely under Damion's control, even if he knew he would regret it.

" Damion ! " he muttered with trembling hands.

" Nothing is in my hands now, Professor Rochefort. You suggested Alexander to meet me. I just did what I had to. The medicine had started working long back itself. Let him know the truth, let him know that he used the girl he loved as a war tool. "

With that, he ended the call, leaving a helpless Mason behind.

Damion Joseph, the only one beside Mason who knew the truth about Alexander's past life. Not only that, this was supposed to be his 18th life as far as he could remember.

Mason and Damion have been close friends ever since their memories began. Everything went out of order when Damion realized that he could control people with this power.

In his previous life, Damion was reborn as Alexander's step-father, who was the second lieutenant of the Les land army, followed by Mason, who coincidentally was the captain of the rival army. Damion trained Eugene and his step-brother Raphael from a young age to become soldiers once they grew up in the name of custom.

Since Raphael did not appear to have a good relationship with his father, Damion , he decided to use Eugene for power by getting him enlisted in the army and working against his friend Mason.

Damion could've chose not to remember his past lives if he had found the person he loved from his first life. Instead, he chose power over love and remained as a therapist in his 18th life to avenge the betrayal.

At present he didn't mind making Mason's nephew suffer, especially when he realized that it was his son. He had the sense of control over him and didn't hesitate to do anything on knowing about their case against the Bennett Mafia.

Meanwhile, Mason wanted to bring his old friend back out of the mirage to reality. He didn't realize the amount of hatred filled inside Damion. He went back into the office with a faint smile on his face.

Surprisingly, he learned that Cassandra had agreed to their plan. Even though Cassandra's face showed worries, it still made him happy for the courage she gathered.

Alexander, who was deep in thoughts, was now smiling as if he had sensed victory. " The plan will be carried out tomorrow . It's already getting I'll drop Ms. Brown to her home and be back. " He said to his uncle and went out with her.

While the entire ride was silent, Cassandra decided to break the silence by shooting the questions she had in her mind for quite a long. " How did you get to know about the contract that the Bennett mafia is going to deal with, Mr. Morris? " she asked straight out.

Rather than being shocked, Alexander had expected a pile of questions from her. " Ms. Brown, did you forget that I'm a lawyer? I have my own way after all"

" Own ways you say? The way seems as if you know the mafia well. Each and every moment of the mafia is known by you." She said, since his answer wasn't convincing to her.

" Think in the way of a lawyer if you can or, in other words, you don't have to concern yourself with all these things other than the victim's mental stability." He said, expecting her to stop since his wound was taking control over him, making his mind blank.

" If that's the case, then I don't have to take part in this plan and play a victim, right? I just have to consult my client." She said, staring at Alexander, who had completely lost his patience.. He stopped his car and turned towards Cassandra.

" For god's sake, Cassandra Brown just do as I say and don't dare to question me anymore. I hate voluble ones. " He threatened her. For some reason she was hurt by his words. She wouldn't mind if it was anyone else, but she couldn't explain why she was feeling such emotions.

She wanted to defend herself by saying it wasn't her fault as he kept changing his words. She turned towards the window and remained silent, wishing to reach home sooner.

She got out of the car and ran back towards her home without turning back. She saw her brother sitting in the hall waiting for her.

" Freshen up and come. Let's have dinner. " He said, which she declined, saying she wasn't hungry at all, and made her way to her room. She thought about the entire conversation between her and Alexander while lying on her bed.

She thought that she wasn't wrong after all her profession, included questioning if she found something fishy.

" It's all his fault ", she screamed, hugging her pillow.

" Boi, she's going crazy ." Ivan said, eyeing his mother, who could hear Cassandra screaming from her room.

" You think she's in love? Since there was a time I used to like that ", she said, looking at her son who was now staring in disbelief.

" I would've agreed if you had said something possible, but mom, you just stated something that can be considered in the list of miracles."

He swallowed another spoonful of pasta, since the Cassandra he knew was a nerd who wouldn't ever fall in love. At least that's what she said every time.

After a deep slumber, Cassandra was ready for the plan which was to be executed today. She didn't inform anyone at home about it, thinking they would get worked up on hearing it, but here she found herself nervous and worried.

Taking a deep breath, she chose a black shirt with blue denim jeans with a trench coat and set out to the coffee shop that Alexander had texted her.

She entered the coffee shop and once again the hot air with a coffee smell hit her. She went to reception and ordered her coffee and sat down by a window seat. A few minutes before getting her order.

She saw a girl entering the shop which was her target. After finishing her coffee, she saw the girl going towards the restroom and followed her.
