The twin princes decided to take a seat. Aevin was beside Lorra, facing the first daughter of Qye, while Ahron was taking a seat beside Aevin facing Prince Fabin. The two of them sigh, feeling bored already.
This meeting doesn’t require their presence whatsoever, they wanted to stay in the library, not for reading books certainly, it was for the purpose of singing and dancing, so the servant would be bothered by their presence, and they would get trouble.
Well, for them, the trouble is fun. Trouble is the type of relief that they craved each day, so they don’t have to feel bored or empty.
Aevin looks at Elleryn, everything that an eighteen-years-old could absorb from another eighteen-years-old. She was staring at her hand and rubbing it.
Is she feeling cold?
Aevin thought. He doubts that anyone could feel cold inside the hall. The castle was constructed with special material, so that when the winter comes, warmth would fill the air and the surrounding will turn cool when summer hits Suttern.
The girl that he faces right now will marry his big brother Rydan. The one that should be inside this hall, not him or Ahron.
Aevin took a little closer look at her, pale skin, bright blonde hair closer to white, heart-shaped face plus a pair of pink lips, and long eyelash. Ezana looks up and meets Aevin's eyes. Her eyes, there are two colors inside her eyes, blue with a tint of red or perhaps orange?
She raised her lips upwards, creating a beautiful little smile, her eyes looking at his black eyes. Aevin broke the contact immediately and decided the wall is far more interesting than the beautiful girl in front of him.
Just as the rumor has said, the first daughter of Qye is the beautiful one among others, Lady Byrl, Aevin other ’mother’ has the not so far features like Elleryn, green eyes with a tint of gold, pale skin, long straight sea blue hair and smile that perhaps far more beautiful than anyone else’s.
Edra would always forbid him speaking with Lady Byrl, she said Lady Byrl has the ability to hypnotize people around her and make them fall to submission. She has the power to change people's minds from good to bad or the other way around.
Deep down, Aevin knows, she didn’t use the power. Everyone could easily find her likable. Aevin believes Lady Byrl never uttered a spell to control his mind. He knows he likes the other’ mother’ he had, and happy with it, he also doesn’t want anyone from his family to know, especially his father.
However, Lorra is…complicated.
Lorra was playing deep in the forest, too far for the guard to watch for her. She didn’t realize a fairy had followed her since the first step she took outside the palace. That fairy, enraged with wrath, planned to take Lorra and later demanded the King of Suttern to let free her family.
The one that saved Lorra that night is Lady Byrl, she cast a spell around Lorra, and chased away that fairy, after promising the fairy that she would try to get her family out of the Suttern, Lorra ran immediately after, leaving Lady Byrl behind.
Since that day, Lorra hates Qye, because that day she felt useless. She had depended on Lady Byrl to save herself, even when she could just shift into her white wolf. However, Lady Byrl saves her, and she feels weak, she hates that feeling. Her pride as a werewolf had taken from her as if she doesn’t deserve to be a werewolf.
She hates Qye, especially the one that sits right in front of Aevin or the one that is now buried deep inside the cold ground.
On the other side, Ahron is more of a peacekeeper or perhaps just doesn’t care. As long as he could still make trouble, he doesn’t care that a Qye has come to marry his big brother or that this marriage is the way to protect Suttern or something along with that purpose. He is being lazy on his own. He doesn’t want to care about it at all.
Princess Deair chooses that time to come inside, looking furious and angry that she had to stop painting her room, her sky blue dress that she wears looks a little bit messy, she stomps her way inside and sits beside Ahron before nodding at her Father and Mother.
“I want this to be over with!” Deair shouted.
It’s what everyone feels right now.
Exactly.
Though Deair is 3 years older than Lorra, she acts like a child more than a Princess, she makes a mess, and she always whines and cries and demands things that sound outrageous even for the King and Queen of Suttern.
Deair takes a glance at everyone. First, her Father, then Leor, followed by Avra, her pair of golden eyes falls on Elleryn. The beautiful lady inside the room, Deair smiles immediately, looking at her as if she had found a goddess.
Deair stands and walks around a table and comes to stop in front of Elleryn. She smiles brightly at her, showing her white teeth before she hugs her tightly. It had Elleryn taken by surprise, she didn’t expect such welcoming from the Suttern, but she relaxes and hugs her back, while stroking Deair’s strawberry blonde hair. Elleryn notices that she likes the warm feeling Deair lets out.
Arax hates what he sees, he shouts at Deair as she takes a step back out of fear. Deair takes a quick look at his father, when her eyes catch the dangerous glare of her father. She whimpered and let go of Elleryn.
“What spell did you cast upon my big sister? For sure, she would not hug you if you didn’t do anything witchy behind our back,” Lorra snorted and eyed Elleryn with disgust, hate, and malice.
Elleryn shakes her head, about to answer her question, but Ezana beat her to it.
“And why did you think like that? It’s winter. The time where her power took a toll on her, for sure casting a spell will only make her unconscious within seconds or are you not clever enough to take it into mind?” Ezana said by tilting her head to the side as if confused and how such an obvious thing did not enter Lorra’s mind at all?
Everyone was silenced still, even Arax. They couldn’t decipher this entire turn of events could happen within minutes.
Lorra hissed, baring her teeth at Ezana, her wolf about to come out, wanting to rip her to pieces. She doesn’t care that afterward; her father would abandon her. Desire to kill the one who humiliated her in front of her family had successfully filled her mind.
“Oh shush Lorra,” Deair stated. Lorra's head snaps to her sister, looking at her as if had turned crazy.
Is Deair doing what she thinks she is doing?
Defend a Qye. An actual daughter of Qye. Has she gone mad?
“Don’t act animalistic in front of them, that Lady over there did not cast a spell upon me,” Deair said. Inspecting her nails, she then raises her head to look directly at her sister.
“I have drank Ouillas like Father has instructed us this morning, you know? That liquid of disgusting Pegasus saliva that mixes with other herbs? To shield any hypnotized spell. Father even instructed us to bathe with cold water, mix with the blood of the mermaid, to make sure that the Ouillas don't wear off within hours,” Deair announced.
It was a shocking statement; worth punishment of 10 years inside the prison, making Ouillas and bathing with the blood of a mermaid. Because the action of those things is only effective after killing two creatures. Right now, the King of Suttern had broken his own rules.
Arax becomes red with fury and humiliation. To think his daughter would be the one to stab a sword inside his heart and sing a celebration song, he could not believe it.
“I like her, not from a spell. But, because she is likable,” Deair continued, shielding Elleryn from malice words about to come, mainly from Lorra.
Fabin was smiling, while Kyzen was nodding. Ladon closes his eyes, though he wanted to hug that little girl so he can assure himself that she is real. Ezana smiles proudly, her sister is a likable person, and she agrees with her on that one.
“Thank You,” Elleryn muttered. Then suddenly she coughs and coughs, and keeps coughing. Leor and Avra look at her with concern. Her sister and brothers looked at her with obvious worry on their face.
