Elleryn becomes silent after that, not knowing what to say next. She doesn't want to talk about her abilities, having all the power and abilities sometimes not a topic she wants to talk about, but then her mind wanders to one person, her friend. Perhaps Deair wants to hear about that one as well.
"Back in Qye, I have a friend. His name is Xalen Krogh, he is the best soldier we have in Qye, and he is a werewolf," Elleryn smiles. Deair seems a little bit surprised.
A werewolf inside Qye?
What exactly happened to him, how come?
"His parents are part of the rebellion against the Suttern Kingdom that happened fifteen years ago," this time Deair looks down, she knows about that rebellion. It was still during the time her father ruled Suttern, Deair knew her father's way of ruling the empire never was kind or warm-heart like the other King. Sometimes she wants to believe her Father every decision was the best one among others, she still wants to believe it that way.
Elleryn squeezes Deair hands and continues.
"He managed to run away to Qye with injuries covering his body. Mother heals him and afterward, he lived with us, he is twenty-five years old this year, he said he doesn't want me to leave Qye, but I said to him it's my duty to be inside Suttern," Elleryn said.
Deair turned silent for a while, she hesitantly asked "He must really hate us then, the Royal?" Deair whispered, raising her head and looking towards Elleryn's eyes, examining her expression.
"Hmm... yes," Elleryn said. Deair looks down again this time, biting her lips.
"But we always tell him that he shouldn't hate anyone. It happens for a reason, and hate would only result in him being exhausted. Both mind and physical, I think, he tries to forget his past, Elleryn said, closing her eyes, enjoying the small breeze of the wind. Deair nods, perhaps trying to understand as well.
Deair thinks for a while, the silence that took over between them wasn't awkward. In fact, it was calming for both of them. The sweet chirp of birds and the little sparkles that come from the sun hitting the snow, somehow calm both of their heartbeat and minds, but then a question pops up in Deair's head.
A question too personal, that she was a little bit scared to ask Elleryn.
But she asks anyway because she wants to know.
"Do you..." Deair looks up, meeting Elleryn's eyes.
"Hate us?" she whispered.
Elleryn's eyes widen, she raises her eyebrow, confused plastered on her face. The question is a little too sudden, but she is certain anyway, that she didn't hear it wrong.
And that Deair, just genuinely asking her that question.
Elleryn clears her throat, she begins to squirm. She holds the book that was on her lap to her chest now, feeling her heart tighten suddenly. It’s a little uncomfortable to ask this question, especially Deair being one of the 'us' in question.
"I don't hate,” Elleryn blinks, mouth still open with words hanging within her mind. She takes a deep breath before continuing, “my mother said it's my duty to be here, for the alliance and part of a tradition, I don't hate…", Elleryn stopped. Not sure what had happened, her words taste too odd for her tongue, and this is the first time someone makes her think. Think carefully, does Elleryn hate Suttern?
"I..."
Since a young age, she had been told that her future wasn’t hers to decide. Her power comes with too many things to tie with, part of it to live inside the Suttern for the rest of her life. For each of her abilities, it would only be used with permission that comes from the King and in her future husband, The Crown Prince Rydan. Her life is to be devoted towards her husband, and someday her husband-wife, and perhaps her husband's children. She must show her submission towards her husband's family. She has been told, it's her only duty.
But does she hate it?
"I don't know," she finally said. Looking at nothing in particular, her heartbeats quicken, a little bit flustered by her answer, but she decides to raise her head anyway, and smile towards the golden eye's girl in front of her.
For the first time, Deair knows this smile didn't come from her heart, Elleryn smiles, because she thinks she must.
And Deair could only smile back towards her.

Since Elleryn could remember, she had been told her first priorities are Suttern. Deep in her heart, she thinks otherwise, she always and will continue to believe her family would be her first priority. Despite anything the world has said, if somehow she is told by the Suttern to kill to protect her family, she would gladly turn merciless towards whoever tries to stand in front of Suttern, to make sure her family is safe and sound.
To be honest, she didn't care about the Land of Qye. Since she was a child, she is kept hidden and away from other creatures, in fear that she will become attached and run away from Suttern in the future. So to feel care towards the people of Qye is a strange feeling, stranger than the first time she takes her step inside the Palace.
But, towards her family, she is far more than care. Her first priorities would always be for them.
Her parents, Ladon, Fabin, Kyzen and Ezana.
So that time, when she saw the vision of her family, she just couldn't do anything but screamed her lungs out.

As a servant that serves the Daughter of Qye, her only job is to take care of Elleryn. Making sure the room is clean, meals arrive on time, teapot fills each time of day and her dress clean and smells nice, serving her actually not that hard. That morning, as usual, she brings Elleryn breakfast with a quickened step towards the East Tower, making sure not to drop it.
Yoani always chooses to prepare Her Highness breakfast earlier, bringing it towards her to eat later after she wakes up. But that morning scares Yoani so much because she heard heart-wrenching screams coming from Elleryn's room.
Yoani rushed towards her bedroom, pushing open the door to find her sitting up on her bed. Sweat drenching her clothes, her breathing uneven, eyes wide with an alert look on her face. Elleryn looks around her room, and then she begins to come out of the bed, looking scared and wary.
"The King, I need to inform the King," she muttered under her breath.
Yoani rushed to her side, holding her still, whatever she saw wasn't good and Yoani knew Elleryn would do anything to prevent it.
It's the Vision. Lady Byrl used to have it from time to time, she would be trashing on her sleep, screaming in agony, before she wakes up drenched from head to toe with sweat, eyes wide and alert. Just like what Elleryn does now.
The Vision is one of the many abilities that the daughter of Qye has, the abilities to see the future. However, it's different from seeing the future, it's vague, blurry and not connected from one vision to another. There's no set time on when it will happen and to whom it may happen, sometimes, in reality, it could turn into something good but mostly bad.
The Vision only appears in dreams and not often be received well by the daughter of Qye. Usually, some would vomit blood, there are other cases where they wake up bruising all over their body.
Whatever Elleryn wants to say to the King, Yoani is sure it will not be granted. Because the Vision isn't an accurate warning that something might actually happen, so many people believe those visions are to be regarded as not important.
But Elleryn thinks otherwise.
Her vision, at first, consists of happy cheers and laughs, the night was filled with stars and the moon looked bright. All of a sudden, she hears a scream, her own voice screaming towards something blurry, someone has protected her and that someone has fallen in front of her, blood oozing out and breathing turned uneven, before that someone stops breathing, leaving the world.
She knows that she could only try to prevent it from happening by asking the King.
"You have to calm down first. Here, drink this," Yoani brings warm water towards Elleryn's hand. Elleryn begins to take a deep breath and drink the water, but her eyes are still wary and only meeting the King could ease her mind.
"His Majesty will be having breakfast with the rest of the Royal Family. You can wait after that and meet with him personally," Yoani suggested, but Elleryn shakes her head, she doesn't want to wait anymore. She needs to plead, beg, and cry if she must.
She has to make sure that the vision she sees will never happen in the future, or to be precise, on her wedding day.
