Avana returned to her room, still puzzled by what she heard her internal wolf had said. She wanted to talk to Adam, but he seemed missing from the grounds. So, she could only speculate that he was down in his dungeon.
She had no access to his secret place. Therefore, all she could do was wait for his return. In the meantime, she still tried to process what she had learned from her wolf. Could that even be possible?
Of course not!
She believed that her wolf had gone haywire with all the passionate lovemaking she had with him. She still assumed her lust for him would eventually fade when her true mate emerged from wherever he was hiding.
"Hey, my darling. I have been looking for you." Her mother suddenly showed up in her room with a worried look in her eyes. But she still managed to put a gentle smile on her lips as she tried to make her feel better.
