Who is she?

Elliot soon returned to his mansion after dropping Rain to her apartment. He found Dr. Yang in his indoor bar sipping a glass of wine, deep in his thoughts.

"She was shot, wasn't she?" said Elliot as he approached Dr. Yang, more like a statement rather than a question.

"Why ask when you already know the answer" replied Li Yang already knowing that there was no use hiding it from this devil since he had seen his fair share of such wounds over the years to recognize one. "Who is she?" asked Li Yang again. "You never showed any interest in any girl before this."

Elliot raised his brows as if to refuse his claim only to be replied " Oh come on! I have known you and been your best friend for over two decades and this is the first time you personally went to drop a girl to her apartment when you could have asked one of your men."

"I promised to protect her" replied Elliot as he poured a drink for himself. His mind flashing with a pair of innocent eyes staring at him as if asking for love just like a lost puppy. A ticklish feeling arose in his heart which he drowned as soon as it surfaced with the glass of wine. "As for who is she, I know but at the same time am not sure about it." Then he told his friend about his investigation reports on Rain as well as his recent experience with her and the company.

"You know it is a fake report, don't you?" asked Li Yang.

"I am hundred percent sure about it" replied Elliot as he refilled his glass. "But at the same time my instincts tell me that I don't have to be wary of her. That she won't harm me. You know how accurate my instincts always have been."

"I know and I can tell you with confidence that your instinct is accurate as always" he said to which he got an inquiring gaze from his friend. He chuckled and replied, "Before treating her wound I got a call from Dr. Rishi."

This surprised Elliot.

Who was Dr Rishi? He was one of the best doctors of the world and his grandfather's closest friend. No one could contact him unless he himself wanted. Not even Elliot himself, despite his relation to his grandfather. Even presidents of the countries had to show him some respect. For such a person to contact his friend, it sure must be something important.

Li Yang continued "Apparently Miss Erena told him about her situation, and he contacted me and commanded me to follow her requests and to keep my mouth shut about her condition. I guess if she could get Dr. Rishi to contact me, she must be very close to him and therefore could be trusted. You know that the old man could never harm us."

"That sly old man." Elliot chuckled. " Do you think he would believe that you would not rat him out to me? It's his way telling to take care of the girl and not to dig into her information."

"I know" Li Yang sipped his wine. "One more thing. As the old guy has bestowed you with this responsibility, I think it is necessary for you to know about this." He continued feeling his friend's questioning gaze "I didn't use any form of anaesthesia while treating her wound and she didn't even flinch. I think she might have Analgesia. But I am not too sure and will need to do further investigation on it."

Before his friend could question him, he continued, " It is a medical condition when a person is unable to feel any sort of pain. That explains her calm demure after being shot as if nothing happen. Before you take it as a boon, trust me, it is a curse for the body. Pain is a way of our body to tell us that we need to pay attention to our body and the specific part is not well. If she does not feel pain, then she will never know what's wrong with her body which could even lead to her death. Like condition from before, she could have bleed to death if you hadn't noticed the wound on her shoulder and get me to treat her."

"That explains why the old man wants me to look out for her. She seems to be careless about her health despite knowing her condition." Elliot smiled "what a troublesome girl."
