After the attempt to abduct Kai went wrong, the duke called Doylestown off from anything that has to do with him. That night wasn't what Doylestown could forget, he still remembers the argument, and what pained him most was that Duke didn't complete their deal.
"Detective, I don't think I can let you do anything for me again since you're a total jerk and a failure".
"What about our deal?, If you want me off, then what about the deal? will you also cut that too?".
"You are a greedy man, detective and I won't give a damn to you". Doylestown couldn't forget that night, he felt like he was cheated.
A wave of sudden anger and hatred flushed into him. "What does he wants from me again?".
Around forty minutes after nine that night. Doylestown drove into the orchard warehouse. A bit has changed about it. He sat in his car still ruminating about the last time they met.
On a spur of the moment, a torchlight flashed at his car, its light bouncing up and down as an unknown person walked toward him. The light reflected through the window blinding his eyes.
Doylestown bent his face till the person approached his car.
"Hey". It was a male voice.
Doylestown looked up, the light wasn't directed to his face anymore cause the man held it down.
"Hey" The man Knocks at the window. "Are you detective Doylestown?".
Doylestown nodded.
"Ok". The man tapped the button hanging around his ear "He's here".
"Let him in" An unknown voice probably from inside may be behind the camera told him.
The man motioned Doylestown to come out and walk with him. Doylestown came out of his car, he followed the man into the warehouse.
They went for the elevator. The man motioned Doylestown to walk in. Doylestown entered the elevator and that was when the man saw the bruises on his face.
The elevator door shut with a clanking noise, its door consist of chains of open compartments covered with rods which were arranged vertically.
It went up with a noisy whirring sound as its balls and bearing rolled on the old metals.
When it came to its destination. Doylestown climbed out of the elevator. Two able-bodied men were standing at the door a few metres away from the elevator. He walked up to the door and the men opened it for him and he walked in.
"Hello, Detective Doylestown, long time no see" The Duke's voice permeated through the room.
Doylestown was still, he was in no mood for pleasantries. He wondered why the same man who threw him out like trash is welcoming him with a big smile.
He knew that the Duke has always been a crook and whenever he's up to something he acts very nice.
"Don't just stand there detective. Have a sit" The Duke beckoned him to take a sit.
Doylestown walked towards the chair and sat down. The light shone on his face showing the little bruises.
"Seems you had a long day eh" The Duke chuckled when he noticed the bruises on Doylestown's face. He poured out a red drink into two glass cups. He handed one over to Doylestown.
"Am good" Doylestown declined, That was the first time he spoke since he came into the room.
The Duke sat back as he relaxed on the soft sofa. "I know you are still thinking about last time".
Doylestown kept quiet.
The Duke sipped his drink, he motioned one of his men who were at the doorpost to come over then he muttered some words to him. The man left.
Doylestown took note of all the actions going on.
The man came back and dropped a bag which was filled with something cause it gave a loud thud when he dropped it on the table before Doylestown.
The Duke waved at the man to open it. He opened it and it was a bundle of one-thousand USD dollars.
Doylestown looked at Duke, "What are you up to?" He thought.
The Duke drew himself forward, "This.. it belongs to you, you've earned it".
"What do you want?" Doylestown finally asked him.
The Duke gave a snickering sound, he looked at his men and each of them joined him in the little uproar.
Doylestown kept mute.
After the gibbering, the Duke turned to Doylestown, "This". He pointed at the bag, "Contains three hundred thousand USD dollars and yes I do want something and you'll be of help".

The hospital in the magisterium doesn't usually get busy at night, most times the nurses take that moment to chat away their problems and also to check up on patients in their wards.
"Ward A and B checked" A young nurse thick on the long notecard she was holding. She looks tired and worn out. She thought of joining her colics in their sumptuous talk but she was too tired to do any of that.
She switched off the light in her office and picked up her bag. She entered the hallway, each ward was opposite the other. She brought her phone and clicked on the music app, she selected a few songs and played them on shuffle mode.
She plopped in her earpiece right to its hole on her mobile phone and was about to stick in the earbuds when she heard a heavy clank noise in the wardroom before her.
"What was that?".
