Mate  

In the end, I was almost late. 

I initially wanted to sneak in through the side door of the hall so that no one would notice me. However, I saw two guards in gray armor standing by the side door, so I chose to enter through the main entrance instead.

The moment I stepped into the banquet hall, I saw Jack and his parents standing in the center of the platform. They stood respectfully at the side of a gorgeous man in a dark blue coat.

The man leaned lazily on a red satin chair with his legs crossed. The moment he saw me, a fiery glow lit in his eyes.

My heart skipped a beat, but in the next second, my mother pulled me to her side.

I stood beside my mother with my head down. Soon, I heard footsteps on the carpet. They were heavy, solemn, and incredibly intimidating!

It didn't sound too far, and when the sound got closer, I could smell an extremely fragrant smell! It was the unique scent of grass mixed with pine wood!

My heart pounded, and my wolf jumped for joy! I grasped my skirt tightly in my hands.

Finally, the footsteps came to a stop in front of me. I didn't dare look up because the intense pressure from the man before me had tightly surrounded me. Though I felt a longing, I was also terrified!

"Raise your head." There was an irresistible majestic quality to the man's low voice.

I took a deep breath and saw a pair of stunning purple eyes when I lifted my head! I swear they were the most beautiful eyes I had ever seen! Plus, I've never seen anyone with purple eyes before!

However, his purple eyes were simply a decoration on his face, compared to his handsome features and sexy lips that were more exciting to look at. 

I felt as though my heart had stopped when I looked at him clearly, and my eyes widened.

"If I'm not wrong, this necklace belongs to you," the man said as he pulled out an emerald necklace from his coat pocket and dangled it in front of my eyes. I was surprised when I saw it, and a smug smile appeared on his lips when he caught sight of my expression. 

He placed a finger under my chin and lifted my head as he said slowly, "You're mine!" 

His tone was predatory and possessive as if I was utterly his at that moment!

'Mate!' my wolf cried out.

So, Prince Ian was the big white wolf I had met in the forest, and he turned out to be my mate! Oh! I couldn't believe it!

My mother was taken aback, looking at Prince Ian in horror before looking back at me. I gave her a helpless look, and my mother immediately understood everything. 

She was extremely pale, looking like it was a disaster that I was Prince Ian's mate, while everyone else in the room looked at me in disbelief!

I had done something to shock everyone, after all!

"No! That's impossible!" Jack exclaimed, and I could hear the denial in his voice.

"What did you say?" Prince Ian turned around to glance at Jack, and everyone else was too afraid to utter a word. His icy eyes were filled with murderous intent!

Even I was afraid!

Jack was naturally intimidated by the intense pressure too, and he froze in place without another word!

"Your Highness!" 

My father hurriedly released Susan's hand and came over to smooth things out. He said apologetically to Prince Ian, "Please forgive my son-in-law for being unreasonable! At the same time, I'm delighted that you have found your mate! This is my other daughter, Annie!"

My father was calmer than my mother, and there was even a hint of joy in his eyes. I saw Prince Ian's eyes soften a little. Was it because of me?

The wedding went on as planned. Susan and my father walked in slowly through the banquet hall doors, arm in arm. Susan looked prettier than usual, dressed in all white. She wore a strapless, low-cut wedding dress. Her high, perky breasts were more noticeable than her delicate, beautiful face. Only I knew how thick she had padded her bra with cotton!

I watched Susan walk towards Jack, looking at him with affection in her eyes. The two of them exchanged rings after going through their oaths under the priest's guidance, then hugged and kissed in front of everyone. 

However, there was no joy on Jack's face. Instead, he looked extremely calm.

The wound in my heart was ripped open again, and memories of my time with Jack flooded my mind! I told myself to be strong, but I could not control my emotions!

D*mn it! Hadn't I already found my mate? Why did I still recall the pain of my past? I should be happy!

After the wedding, my father happily invited Prince Ian to visit the Pack tomorrow, but Prince Ian coldly refused his request.

"We'll leave at dawn!" Prince Ian said, glancing at me. Then, he said to my father, "Send your daughter to my room tonight."
