CHAPTER ONE BLACK NIGHT

The sun was setting on Oasis plains, a small town surrounded by mountains and forests. For most it was a beautiful place to live while for some it was just a nightmare.

Xavier sat at the edge of the balcony in his room, he comes here to escape from his family and think. He sat there quietly and watched the sun set. "Hey" his little brother Alvin said as he joined him on the balcony.

"You shouldn't sit here it's dangerous" Xavier warned him, but what he meant was ' you shouldn't be here' .

Alvin ignored him and sat on the balcony "Your still angry at them aren't you?"

Xavier looked at his brother from the side of his eyes and answered "What do u care, you think their right any way".

" We're your family we're just doing what's right for you" Alvin said trying to calm his brother.

" Well I was trying to look out for you and look how that turned out" Xavier said in anger and a bit of disappointment.

"Please leave I need to get ready for tonight" Xavier said as he walked into his room leaving Alvin in the balcony.

Alvin stared at the sky "I wish he could see that he's not alone in this" he said to himself .

As Alvin walked into the room he saw Xavier picking out an outfit.

"So your going?" Alvin asked.

"What does it look like to you?" Xavier said while struggling to decide what outfit to wear for the homecoming dance.

"I'd go for the all black, it suits you perfectly, you know mister strong and silent"Alvin pointed at the black jacket and black jeans.

"Thanks" Xavier said without looking at him.

" Your taking Emily right?" Alvin asked with a sly smile on his face.

"Yes" Xavier said with small a smile "and it's none of ur business who I'm taking" his expression quickly changed.

" Get changed quickly you don't wanna keep your princess waiting" Alvin said.

" Yeah yeah bitch" Xavier said with a smile and this time he didn't change his expression.

"Jerk" Alvin replied him with a playful smile and left his room so he could change into his outfit.

Few minutes later, Xavier walked down the stairs, his mother watching tv immediately turned her head and opened her mouth in awe. She could not believe what a handsome young man her son has grown up to be.

"You look fantastic, Emily is gonna fall head over heels for you Tonight" she said in excitement.

"Don't flatter him" Alvin said while pouting.

Xavier walked up to his little brother and bent down to his level " look I know I've been a shitty brother, trust me I do the shitty things I do to protect you" he said sounding as sincere as he could.

"Yes these past few weeks I've made a lot of mistakes but I'm gonna be good I promise" he said while trying to rough Alvin's cute brown hair.

" Don't touch me jerk" Alvin said as he pushed his brother's hand away.

Xavier smiled at his little brother

" bitch" he said.

"Language you two" their mother said with a sweet smile on her face.

"Sorry mom" the two said in unison.

"cough cough cough" Alvin used his hand to cover his mouth as he coughed.

"Are u alright?" Xavier asked in panic.

' no not now, pls not now' their mother was worried.

"I'm fine, can both of u stop looking at me like that?" Alvin said not noticing his mouth and hands.

" Your hands?" Xavier said while holding it up to Alvin's face. Blood covered his hands and nose.

"Oh shit" Alvin said . He tried to clean the blood of his hands and face. "I'm fine, I'm fine. No need to worry it's just a minor incident" he told them even though it seemed he was talking more to himself.

Xavier touched his brothers forehead

" your burning up!"

" Oh no no no" their mother almost yelled.

Xavier tried to calm himself and his mother down then they heard a sound. it was Alvin, he had collapsed on the ground.

"Alvin, c'mon Al, wake up!" Xavier shook his brother attempting to wake him up but failed.

His mother called the paramedics. "where are they, they should be here by now" she was getting impatient.

Few minutes later the paramedics arrived. Xavier carried his brother into the ambulance. " Don't worry your brother will be fine " one of the paramedics assured.

" I think you should be getting to school now" Xavier's mother said coming out of the ambulance. Xavier looked confused for a moment then realized dat he was late.

"what Abt Al?" he asked . "he's going to be fine, you can go, I'll stay with him" his mother told him with a reassuring smile.

"thanks mom, pls call me if he wakes up" he said. "okay, hv fun but not too much fun" his mother said ND gave him a wry smile. "don't worry mom I won't, take care of Al for me" he said as he called a taxi nd entered.

The taxi dropped Xavier off at Oasis high. His highschool, he never really like the school but he managed. To night the school was decorated with white balloons and white streamers. Xavier took out his phone and texted Emily.

'Hey, I'm sorry I'm late, just got here' he texted

'No worries, sorry about Al, hope he gets better soon' she replied.

'Yeah me too. I'll meet u inside' he texted

'Here goes nothing' he sighed and walked into the school.
