A week after staging his own shipwreck Daedalus awoke to a warm bed and a doctor in the room. It was clear that the doctor hadn't been expecting him to wake up as they jumped when he sat up slightly.
Daedalus then looked around confused and asked where he was. As he waited for a reply he couldn't help but notice that he had been restrained. The doctor noticing his reaction said, "Well, we are on the island of Voil, it's a small island and quite out of the way. I apologise for having to restrain you, we had to make sure of your intentions first."
Daedalus nodded and said, "My only intentions right now are to find work and get some food in my stomach. I don't really have any plans anymore, my crew stranded me on an island somewhere and I had to make a raft, unfortunately the sail I made failed terribly and I ended up drifting around for days."
The doctor nodded and asked, "What sort of crew do you speak of?"
Daedalus chuckled sadly, "It was a small merchant ship, everyone on board was someone I considered family, to have them strand me and leave me to die over one small trinket."
Daedalus sighed and looked out the window beside him before turning back and saying, "So no I don't think I will be causing any trouble any time soon, not to mention I owe you all for saving my life."
The doctor didn't say anything more and proceeded to remove the restraints on Daedalus. Daedalus nodded in thanks and asked, "If I may, is there any place I might find work?"
The doctor nodded and said, "I would try with the fishermen by the dock, you might be able to go with a crew to help out."
Daedalus smiled and nodded before making his way around the small port town, mentally mapping the place. When he finished with that it was easy enough to find the dock. As luck would have it there was a small group of fishermen starting to load a boat.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Daedalus wasn't given the greatest job but it earned him some coin and enough fish to eat. The money was pretty basic, fifty copper coins equals one silver and fifty silver to a gold. The pub on the island also acted as an inn and that only cost five copper.
His total earnings for his first day was only twelve copper but it meant he could afford basic necessities. However the pay was higher than normal due to the generosity of the fishermen he worked with giving him extra so that he could get his feet under him.
The second day he earned a total of six copper and three fish, so he earned only one copper considering he had to pay for the inn. Still he was slowly regaining his muscle and was hoping he could earn more later on.
Like that a week past and Daedalus had earned eight copper and four fish he had also moved from doing only cleaning to helping out with spotting the schools of fish. This world seemed to be extremely rich with Yang energy so Daedalus was expecting to be fully healed within the next week.
Sorry for not saying anything last week, I had terrible stomach cramps and couldn't do much. Also tell me any ideas you want in this world.
I hope you enjoyed the chapter thanks for reading!!!
