Chapter 128: First Arrival and Encounter

The might of the Baskerville Squad was indubitably formidable. With four S-rank Armed Detectives and the powerful G17 supernatural investigator Shirayuki, they were already a force to be reckoned with. Even though Riko and Jeanne were A-rank detectives, their unique abilities should not be underestimated. The only member with a seemingly lesser combat capability was Koyuki, who was at B-rank.

Under Zhang Fan's guidance, Koyuki had already attained A-rank strength but had not yet undergone formal assessment. As such, the Baskerville Squad was known as the strongest team at Tokyo Armed Detective High.

The squad had just been formed as the summer vacation commenced. Zhang Fan planned to use this break to deepen his relationships with the girls and earn game points through missions. However, life is full of surprises, and Zhang Fan was about to embark on an eventful summer vacation.

On the first day of the holiday, as Zhang Fan stepped out to buy groceries, a pink magical circle unexpectedly appeared before him. Before he could investigate, he was sucked into a black hole in the center of the circle.

"What's happening?" Zhang Fan wondered as he found himself plummeting from mid-air. He braced for a potentially lethal landing.

"Congratulations, you've been selected for a special subsidiary mission," a mocking voice said. Turning, Zhang Fan saw the system character Cai Cai smiling beside him, falling alongside.

"A special subsidiary mission?" Zhang Fan was baffled. How did a grocery run turn into a mission?

"Yes, you've been chosen for an interesting world. Be careful, though, failing this mission comes with penalties," Cai Cai teased, but before Zhang Fan could react, he hit the ground.

Surprisingly, a pink flower blossomed upon his impact, cushioning his fall and leaving him unscathed.

"Are you the brave hero who answered my summons?" A young girl stood before him as he got up. She had pink hair, light purple eyes, and distinctly canine-like ears and tail.

"Hero?" Zhang Fan didn't respond, prompting the girl to look puzzled.

"Hello, where am I? And why do you call me a hero?" Zhang Fan asked, although he had an inkling of where he might be.

"I summoned you. I'm Michiole F. Biscotti, the ruler of Filianno City in the Biscotti Republic," the girl introduced herself. Michiole... Zhang Fan realized he had indeed landed in the world of "DG_DAYS."

"Pleased to meet you, Michiole. I am Zhang Fan. May I know why you've summoned me?" Zhang Fan greeted her with a gentlemanly bow.

"Hero Zhang Fan, I'm grateful you've come to Flonyard. Our republic is at war, and we need your strength," Michiole urgently explained.

"Of course, I'll help," Zhang Fan readily agreed, intrigued by this fantasy world and the mysterious power of crests.

As they walked down the stairs, a two-meter-tall bird appeared, resembling an ostrich.

"Is this your first time seeing a Singrab?" Michiole inquired upon noticing Zhang Fan's surprise.

"We don't have such creatures where I come from," Zhang Fan replied, embracing the fantastical elements of this world.

What would this adventure bring? Zhang Fan looked forward to it with anticipation.
