Chapter 2: A happy place

She could barely hold through the night as the thunders were violent and the lightning kept reminding her every single painful memories. Though she poured her feelings into that journal, She still craved for a real person to talk to... To hug her to sleep... She took a notebook from the bedside table and started writing a poem:-

"The dark dusks She spent sole,

With pain and cold,

She wished her soul to disappear,

with her heart shedding a tear."

She wanted to continue the poem... but she couldn't. It made her to think about her past, again and again. She slowly got up from the bed and Went to a small table near the kitchen, which she called it as her " happy place" that had her parents photo , who was smiling back at her. 

" I wish to see you smile , and I want to hear you laughing... I want your ridiculous stories and your warm hugs... I solely miss you from the bottom of my heart ... I want to see you mom... I want to see you dad ... for one last time..." She started sobbing. She never felt this vulnerable in her entire life...

Then an idea struck her mind . "What if I had a chance to see them again? What if I never left them again? All I had to do is to take my life and I would never leave them again!" 

She took a knife from the kitchen , ready to take her life... Ready to embrace her parents... Ready to end her sufferings... 

She then remembered her Mom's last words " Even if the world dies, you should never lose your hope , because it is the only thing that will give you company till the end of your life" . These words kept her alive until now. She must not die...She must not lose hope..

She then thought of the person who brutally tortured her parents in front of her.

"I'll never die before making the person who killed my parents die of guilt and regret every single day. I'll make him atone for the sins he committed. "

She thought of her parents for one last time and She could practically hear them speaking in her heart.

"It's not your fault honey... We don't want you to lose your hope. Your pain would fade away with the rain tonight and don't stick onto the past. It's time for you to move on..." 

"Yes mom! I will move on, but I won't forget everything..." She whispered in her heart.

They were right... she shouldn't stick onto the past. She should move on . She went back to her bed thinking how tomorrow would be a new start for her. She would accept the job offer from China as a Neurosurgeon and she could finally put her sorrows away! 

"I am brave, I'm bruised , I'm who I'm meant to be. This is me " She sang in a low voice, trying not to wake up the neighbors. 

 Then she finally slept , erasing her pain from her heart.
