Qin Ruan stared blankly ahead, her mind echoing with Wen Yixin's words.

After a moment, she looked up at Wen Yixin, the dullness in her eyes gradually giving way to a renewed brightness.

Wen Yixin's lips curved into a gentle smile as she ruffled Qin Ruan's hair, murmuring, "Silly girl."

Qin Ruan's ears turned slightly red from Wen Yixin's affectionate tone. She subconsciously pinched the fabric of her pajama pants, her voice barely audible, "I'm not silly."

Wen Yixin chuckled at Qin Ruan's earnest rebuttal, responding with a soft, "You're right, you're not silly."

Qin Ruan looked into Wen Yixin's eyes, which were full of warmth and laughter. Her lips moved as if she wanted to say something, but she hesitated, not wanting to interrupt Wen Yixin's smile. After a moment, she swallowed her words and continued to gaze at Wen Yixin, her eyes lingering on her smiling face a little longer.

Eventually, Wen Yixin, feeling that it was impolite to keep laughing at Qin Ruan, stopped herself and spoke first.

She gently supported the back of Qin Ruan's head, tilting it slightly as she asked, "Qin Ruan, how are you feeling now?"

"Are you still scared?"

Qin Ruan shook her head, her fingers unconsciously tightening, "As long as Big Sister Wen is with me, I'm not afraid."

Wen Yixin raised an eyebrow, "Shall I stay with you a little longer then?"

"Yes," Qin Ruan replied softly.

Wen Yixin smiled, withdrawing her hand from the back of Qin Ruan's head as she asked, "Are you tired? If you're sleepy, you can lie down and rest for a bit. You'll probably fall asleep soon."

Qin Ruan nodded and obediently lay down on the bed, pulling the pillow closer to Wen Yixin's side, "Big Sister Wen, you should lie down too."

"Alright," Wen Yixin agreed.

She adjusted the pillow and lay down beside Qin Ruan, facing her.

Qin Ruan stared at the person lying so close to her, her beautiful eyes blinking slowly, "Big Sister Wen, can you tell me more about yourself?" She wanted to know more about her.

Wen Yixin nodded, "Of course."

"I used to…"

Wen Yixin's voice was soft and steady, and after some time, Qin Ruan's eyes slowly closed as she listened.

As her eyelids finally drooped shut, Wen Yixin's voice gradually came to a stop.

She watched Qin Ruan's peaceful sleeping face for a long moment, her hand gently brushing a strand of hair away from her cheek. After carefully observing her for a while, she slowly got up from the bed and quietly left the room.

However, as the door clicked shut from the outside, Qin Ruan, who had just closed her eyes, slowly opened them again.

She reached up to touch the spot on her face where Wen Yixin's fingers had grazed, her fingertips trembling slightly.

Wen Yixin and Qin Ruan had just finished breakfast when Wen Miaoling's video call came through.

As soon as Wen Yixin answered, Wen Miaoling's lively voice burst through the phone, "Sis, I'm about to start my summer break! Can I come to K City to visit you? Maybe spend the summer at your place!"

Hearing this, Wen Yixin instinctively glanced at Qin Ruan, who was sitting next to her.

Qin Ruan tensed up under her gaze, her lips pressing together.

"And you're living together already? That's so fast!"
