Chapter Four

PRINCE DAMON POV

I swear if she was sleepwalking, she is going to hear it because no human was allowed in here.

"Damon are you in there?" She asked. I could hear her concern from her voice.

I left the basement.

"What are doing in there?" She asked concerned. She was worried about me. Typical human. So, she was not sleepwalking.

If only she knew I could be her worst nightmare, she could have run and not look back.

"Why were you looking for me?" I asked waiting impatiently for her reply.

"I wanted to take a glass of water. I didn't see you there. I started looking for you."

Why would she be looking for me anyway? I was never missing in the first place.

"What is that place?" She asked.

"My library" I answered.

"Can I go there when I'm less busy?" She asked with excitement.

"It's bound from all Hayley's," I said praying she won't enter the basement when I'm not around.

"Okay, goodnight. Please Damon, never scare me like that again." She told.

She was a caring human. She was beautiful with her black hair, brown eyes. The eyes I saw in that hallway. She was beautiful.

Looking at her now was not helping. The only option is to walk away before I devour her.

She walked away yawning widely like she wants to swallow the building with me included.

I walked away to get some sleep.

Hayley's POV.

I woke up at the sound of the alarm. I went to the bathroom to do my morning business. I dressed in a black shirt, navy blue pencil skirt, navy blue handbag and black high heels.

Now that I'm working at AGRIPPA AND SONS OIL COMPANY and Damon's assistant, I have to dress corporately.

I also heard they have a construction company called AGRIPPA AND SONS CONSTRUCTION COMPANY. 

That's where I was supposed to be working but I was transferred to the oil company instead. I don't know anything about construction anyway.

I like it here though apart from Damon being an arrogant jerk everything was okay. I went to the living room to see that Damon was prepared.

He was wearing a top and jeans with a canvas. He was wearing a jacket instead of his work suit. He's handsome in those. He should wear that often.

"We are going to the construction company. We will be there throughout. I have an office there likewise you since you are my PA."

"But I can't wear this. Let me go change"

"No don't worry, you look beautiful in those." He looked at me and I smiled mumbling 'thanks'

"Besides you won't be going to the site with me. Let go."

We reached our destination. The company is bigger than the latter.

It's magnificent.

"Welcome to AGRIPPA AND SONS CONSTRUCTION COMPANY.  Hayley Marshal" Wow. It was beautiful.

We entered the building.

Everyone greeted Damon.

"Good morning Liliana. It's nice to see you."

"Pleasure to see you too. Damon."

I stood there looking at the two of them when someone greeted me.

"Ma'am, it's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Harold."

"I'm Hayley. Nice to meet you." I shook his hand smiling. He smiled. He looks so much like Damon. He is tall, handsome with blue eyes like King Agrippa. He looks so much like King Agrippa.

"You look so much like the King," I told me. He smiled at me.

"That jerk is my stepbrother. My father had sex with my mom before he knew his mom. My mother took off after she told my father, she was pregnant. I came back to my father twenty years later. I'm the assistant CEO of this company and I'm also the CEO of HAR. AGRIPPA PRODUCTION COMPANY. My dad built it for me after I returned. He thought I was dead that was why he gave all to Damon."

"So why are you all alone by yourself?" He asked.

"I'm the jerk's PA" I answered.

"I know the feeling beautiful. Let me show you around." He suggested while I nodded in agreement.

While we were moving around, we talked and laughed.

Guess who spoilt the fun, the arrogant jerk.

Mr Damon Agrippa.

"What are you doing here, Harold?"

"Well, I'm here to entertain the pretty human. She's quite a beauty." Harold answered.

"Stop flattering the human. She's quite an annoying one." The jerk said.

"I'm right here guys. Why call me human when we are all human?" I said getting tired of being called a human when they are also human.

"Well, well, well. She's so naive. I forgot to add that too" what is Damon talking about? Are they not human? I'm getting scared. Oh God tell me they are not monsters.

Emma told me about vampire existing but I just told her that it's a story the media cook up to give civilian like us what to read and believe.

"Don't mind him beautiful, it just a joke to scare you since it's almost Halloween," Harold explained.

Oh. I breathed out thanking God.

I don't want to see those bloodsuckers even if they exist.

"So stupid, so naive and so dumb" Damon mumbled under his breath.

When I heard that word, I turned him around by his arm to face me.

"What have I done to you? Do you know what you are? An arrogant, stupid, annoying jerk. You deserve someone to put you in your place and I'm going to do it myself. Stupid jerk." I snapped.

He pushed me against the cold wall and his face was closer to mine.

"You wanna know how arrogant I can be?" His eyes went down to my lips. "Very arrogant" he kissed the side of my lips.

"Very stupid" he kissed the other side of my lips. "Very annoying" he bit his lips.

My breath hitched. I looked into his eyes with lust, admiration and love. I have always had a crush on him for three years.

I've waited for him thinking he will come back to me but instead, he hates me so much. I've not done anything to him but he detests me.

"Do you want me to stop?" he asked leaning impossibly closer. My chest was rising and falling. "I'll stop, just say the word." I don't want him to stop.

"Say it" he demanded and I leaned closer to him.

"You won't seduce me, Mr CEO"

"Oh yeah," his lips brushed mine. "Are you sure about that?" I nodded. "Sure?" This time I didn't respond. When he was about to kiss me, we heard a slight cough.

I snapped back to reality.

"Well, that was hot." I was embarrassed.

"Learn your place, Hayley Marshal" Damon said.

"No, you learn yours because I'm stubborn. Very stubborn Mr Damon Agrippa. Try being an arrogant jerk and you would know how stubborn I can be."

"Dad's plan is working. Your mate. She's human" Harold said while Damon walked out.

"What is a Mate?" I asked.

"You'll understand soon" he answered before leaving me.

I stayed looking confused before the jerk brought me back to reality.

"Hayley Marshal, my office now."
