Spelling It Out For Her To Get

Chapter 7... Spelling It Out For Her To Get

.*.*.*.*.*.*.

"What do you want, Clara?" He asked, irritated already.

The woman chuckled from the other side of the phone.

"Is that anyway to say hello to your fiancee?"

Austin hissed.

"Cut the crap and tell me what you want," he retorted calmly.

"I missed you."

Austin snorted loudly.

"If you did, I'd be dead, Clara."

Clara smiled and relaxed in her chair.

"Make some time out. We have things to talk about."

"We have nothing to talk about, Clara. You are the past and would always be."

"Even when it involves your beloved daughter?" Clara asked meaningfully. "I mean, our daughter dearest."

Austin gritted his teeth and sat up on the bed.

"Don't you dare touch Alicia, Clara! Otherwise, I swear, you will disappear from the face of the planet"

Clara smiled, basking in the satisfaction of getting Austin riled up.

"I don't know her name, I think her name is... Alicia. It's a nice name."

"How would you know when you left the day she was born?" Austin sneered.

"So, if you do not want any harm to come to Alicia, you may want to do as I say and see me," threatened Clara. "I do not need to remind you just how wonderful I can be."

Austin gritted his teeth and took a deep breath to clear his nerves.

"When?"

Clara clapped happily and smiled.

"I'd send you time and place. Do come with a gift for me. I love you."

She did not wait for Austin to respond before ending the call.

"You always have and will always be mine, Austin Sylvian," Clara mumbled to herself, a smirk etched on her face as she played with a small knife in her right hand.

"I will do whatever it takes to make sure you wait for me. I promise you that."

After ending the call, Austin could not sleep. He stood up and entered his study, thankful that his mother had left it the way it was even though he no longer lived with her.

He paced back and forth in the study, trying to think of what might be going through Clara's mind. The lady was cunning, like a vixen. He could never be sure of what she would be thinking or even planning to do.

But one thing was sure...

Clara wanted something, and when Clara wants something, Clara would go to any lengths to get it... Even if she had to destroy half of the earth for.

"Beep! Beep!"

The beeping sound of his phone pulled Austin back to reality. He reached for the phone in his pocket to see a notification from Clara.

"Speak of the devil," he muttered, clicking the notification.

'Shadow cafe, 9pm, tomorrow. Don't be late, hunny!'

It was all the message read. Eight words that almost caused Austin to hurl his phone at the wall. He took a deep breath and placed the phone on the table.

Austin took small steps to stand before the window. The bright crystal moon was up in the sky, mixing with the colourful city lights. The streets were almost empty, even though it was still early into the night.

Sighing, Austin pulled the binds, losing the curtains to cover the window. When he had done that, he reached for his phone and left the room.

.*.*.*.*.*.*.

A luxurious white panamera screeched to a halt in front of the cafe. From the driver's side, a man came out, running to the side to quickly open the door to the backseat. A pair of long legs emerged first before a lady stepped out.

The woman had long purple hair that cascaded down to her waistline. She was dressed in a pink wrap gown that show her long legs. She wore a pair of pink pointy pump heels to compliment her look.

Turning her head to the side, she sighted the signature black sedan in the parking lot and her lips curled into a childish smile.

"He's here," she whispered excitedly, hurrying into the cafe.

Stepping into the warm cafe, Clara's smile grew even more when she saw Austin in one corner of the room, eyes glued to his phone. She hurried her steps, only stopping when she reached the table.

Noticing a presence next to him, Austin looked him. His stoic expression remained even after seeing the woman. Seeing this, Clara frowned and sat down.

"I knew you would come," she smiled sweetly. "I missed you."

"Hmm," Austin nodded. He placed the phone aside and crossed his hands before his chest. "What do you want?"

Austin went straight to the point. All he wanted was for this charade to end as quickly as possible. Sitting next to Clara was like having dinner with the devil. The only difference was that one was sure that the devil was evil, but for Clara, she was like a lunatic with mental disorder.

Clara smiled and relaxed in her chair. She snapped her fingers, drawing the attention of a young waiter.

"Two Americano," she said to the waiter, "cream and sugar for me, cream for him."

The waiter nodded and left. After that, Clara turned to Austin looking happy.

"Impatient, huh?"

Austin hissed.

"Get to the point, Clara. I have things to do."

Clara nodded.

"Okay, I'll go straight to the point." She leaned on the table, locking eyes with Austin. "I. Want. You."

Three words... Austin thought with a scoff.

Was Clara out of her mind, pulling him out of the house for three words?

He chuckled.

"Clara Vermont, we both know I'm not what you want, right?"

Clara smiled. He had once again detected her lie but she would not let him win. She shook her head, her expression immediately turning to that of a child that was about to cry.

"I really want you back, Austin. I was stupid to have left. But now, I know better. I love you and our daughter." A tear rolled down her cheek but Clara did not mind. As long as she won back Austin's trust, she did not mind. "I really want you two. You have to trust me."

"Trust you?" Austin scoffed, not believing a word she said. "If I remember correctly, you were threatening me with this same daughter, last night, right?" He inquired, but Clara did not answer.

She let the waiter place the cups on the table and leave before she shook her head.

"No, listen to me, baby. I was only desperat-"

"Desperate?" Austin took the words from her mouth. "That's what you are, Clara, a desperate woman. Let me make this clear for you to understand. Just Incase you have not been getting the memo from the start."

Austin sat up straight. He stared at her unblinkingly and said in a very clear voice, "You do not have a daughter. You lost your daughter a long, long, long, time ago."

Clara shook her head, tears streaming down her face. How she hated how her make-up was getting ruined!

"No, Austin, don't say that! Please!" She cried loudly, attracting the attention of the people in the cafe.

Austin turned a deaf ear to her cry. He pulled out his wallet and dropped a few dollar bills on the table. After that, he took his phone and left, under the watchful gazes of the people but he did not care.
