Following the moment between Rose and Evelyn Castro, the lecturers finally decided to show up after their meeting, and so, the two departments parted ways from the hotel on the way to their respective field trips in the New York city.
The Commercial department's destination was the Mackay's corporation, and the Zoology department's destination was the Central park zoo.
Five boroughs made up the New York city. The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, the Queens, and the Staten island.
Where the university picked for them to lodge in a hotel was Manhattan, and the zoos they would be visiting were the Bronx zoo in the Bronx, and the central park zoo in central park situated in the heart of Manhattan.
''Wow…''
''This look likes the movies…''
''This place is so different from Syracuse…''
''I really want to take picture….'' Passing through the gates of the central zoo, the students looked around themselves with their lips wide-open, expressing their astonishment.
'Yeah…' Calla was in agreement with the person who said those words. Her hands were itching to the take out of her phone and snap a picture of the Central park zoo.
Though they haven't seen any animals, their eyes were still dazzled with the layouts of the zoo.
Calla was not an exception this time.
This was indeed her first time in a zoo. It could also be said that her childhood dream has already been fulfilled with this field trip.
When Calla was younger, her love for animals started from when she fed a stray dog that sneaked into her elementary school. Her curiosity as a young child was a lot since her parents had restrained her from doing many things that she loved as a child.
A stray dog had been very new and strange in her eyes. During classes, the skinny dog would have climbed over the fence and landed on the small yard by the classroom. Her seat had been by the window, and so, she always watched the animal whenever it wanted to sneak in, and leave the elementary school.
It had been interesting and nouveau sight for her young self…until one day, she decided to meet the dog. During lunch break, she overheard some of her classmates talking about dogs in general. It was from there, she learned about pet shops and the likes. Her curiosity had also multiplied by then.
The stray dog looked very skinny with its visible bones on the furry body, so young calla first thought of feeding the animal with some dog food.
As for the dog food, she had to beg the driver that had always driven her sister and herself, to get the dog food without telling her parents. Calla, as a young child, was a bit sensitive to know that her parents had preferred her twin sister over her.
Even if they tried to treat them both fairly, it had always shown with their little actions. Like them asking her twin sister first about school during dinner, or her father praising her twin sister whenever they all do a school work together, or her mother serving her twin sister with food on the table, or them wishing her twin sister a good day before her.
Even her mother made sure that her wardrobe was exactly the same as twin sister. Every single day, she and twin sister would dress the same way. Or rather, it was what her twin sister wanted to wear that her mother would want her to wear.
Even if she hated the dressing style.
Since her twin sister had never said anything about dogs, Calla as a child, had an inkling that her parents would have definitely not wanted to her to be near the stray dog as long as her twin sister had not said anything
Thankfully, the driver had gotten the dog food without telling her parents, and she finally had the chance of meeting stray dog secretly.
Their first meeting might not have been anything spectacular, but it had been for the young calla, when the stray dog allowed her to rub its furry head after it ate the dog food.
The animal had seemed to be saying thank you, and young calla's heart fluttered, even if she understood nothing then.
Perhaps it was because that she finally had done something of her own choice, that she as a young child, found solace in the innocent heart of stray dog.
''Alright, students, these are the workers that will give a detailed tour around the zoological garden. Over here is Sam, Billy, Amber….'' A middle-aged man in suit and glasses that had welcomed them at the entrance, introduced lined-up men and women in khaki shorts and matching blue shirts behind him.
From what Calla learned about the middle-aged man, he introduced himself as the director of the Central park zoo.
It was an honor for him to personally welcome them, but Calla couldn't but think that his action was a bit too much. Perhaps his assistant or the workers in high position below him could have welcomed them, but he came all the way just to receive them from the entrance.
As a director of a popular zoo, he must have other important thing than welcoming a public university like hers all the way from Syracuse.
Maybe he had done this with other educational institutions in the past, Calla did not know. Her course mates and lecturers might not find it strange, but she did find the director personally welcoming them very strange.
''As I call your names, please go to the person that I have assigned you with…'' The strict voice of her parasitology lecturer pulled Calla from the wandering thoughts in her head. Staring forward at her parasitology lecturer with papers in her hand, there was no sign of the director that had been present not long ago.
He must have left, leaving the rest to the workers behind the parasitology lecturer.
'I really need to stop spacing out...' Calla cautioned herself in her thought, as she listened to her parasitology lecturer calling out the names of her course mates and assigning them to each worker behind her.

''Wow…''
''This is so cool…''
''I wonder if I can work in a place like this…''
''Now, I am staring to appreciate that I am student in the comms depts.''
''Haha...you didn't before…''
''Shut up, dude.''
In the Mackay's corporation, the students from the commercial department could be seen walking through the fine hallways under the guide of two men and two women, both in front and behind in their working outfits.
''Hey Vincent, here's your chance now. Rose is just over there.''
''You really want Vincent and Rose to be together?''
''Of course not. I need to get her to talk us. It's sad, but girls are only interested in me, because I hang out with Vincent.''
''Dylan, you are way to blunt for your own good.''
''Oh, I'm sorry for exposing your ass too, dude.''
''What does my ass have to do with you?''
''I am just stating the truth, Mikey. You know that too.''
''I have charms, unlike you.''
''Hey, what's that supposed to mean?"
''…..'' Vincent sighed to himself, knowing hard it was to calm these two people on his sides.
'Anyway….' Vincent's gaze narrowed on the back of Rose Collins giggling with another girl in his front, though there was a safe distance between them.
'Should I be glad that she isn't with Calla?' He thought, assuming that calla should have a way of handling the haughty Lacy compared to innocent-looking Rose who seemed to have deep schemes of her own.
For both field trips to have happened, she must have planned something, and forcefully bringing calla to the New York city was definitely part of her plans.
'I just have to keep a lookout for her.' Vincent thought, casually avoided those light brown eyes that met his, with a small grin on her lips.
Meanwhile, two boys on Vincent's side both shed tears in their heart, when they noticed the momentary stare between Vincent and Rose.
What a lucky bastard.
They both thought, wondering why the heavens decided to make them less them handsome than Vincent who was akin to honey, always attracting ants akin to girls.
From their perspective, the Vincent and Rose just shared an intimate connection, making their heart bleed in envy.
