Chapter 10 Where is there a boyfriend?

Back at the small house she was staying in.

After Gu Xiaoer went to the bathroom, she was befuddled.

Her period had started.

The damn thing was she couldn't remember whether it had started today or last night; she was utterly clueless.

Did she do anything with that man?

But from the man's tone, it seemed like they really had!

Gu Xiaoer couldn't figure it out, and she certainly couldn't bring herself to ask Han Luoli outright. She just felt this wasn't something he would lie about, so she believed Han Luoli!

The flash of retaliatory pleasure passed by—Lu Tianze didn't want her, but someone else did!

And this person was even more handsome and stylish than him! She wasn't losing out at all!

Cleaned up after taking a bath. Just as her stomach started growling, the doorbell rang out of the blue.

"Excuse me, is this Miss Gu's place?" asked a man in a black suit, popping his head in and inquiring in a calm tone.

Gu Xiaoer stared blankly and nodded her head.

The man in the black suit picked up the exquisite food delivery box and handed it to Gu Xiaoer, "It's from the sir for Miss Gu, please enjoy it while it's hot."

Tilting her head, Gu Xiaoer finally seemed to gather some self-protection instinct and quickly waved her hands, "I don't know you, I don't want it!"

Pies falling from the sky? Who else would give her food?

"Miss Gu, I'll leave the food delivery box here. Please feel free to have it," said the man in the black suit before coolly departing.

Gu Xiaoer held the food delivery box, completely puzzled.

By four in the afternoon, close to the time of the dinner party, the sensation of heaviness in her lower abdomen made walking difficult for Gu Xiaoer, who bit her lip and managed to make it downstairs.

She ran into another man in a black suit right away.

"Excuse me, are you Miss Gu?"

Gu Xiaoer sized up the man in the suit and even in her confusion knew to be wary, "Who are you? What do you want with me? Are you with the guy from this morning?"

No answer came for her series of questions. Instead, the man in the suit handed her a gift bag, responding in a rehearsed manner, "The sir has sent me to fetch Miss Gu, this is the dress for Miss Gu. Please come with me."

"I don't know you! Who is your sir?" Gu Xiaoer was entirely bewildered, and amidst tugging and pulling, a crowd of neighbors had already gathered.

"What grand gestures! Xiao Er, is that your boyfriend?" a nosy auntie excitedly asked full of gossip.

"Aunt Yang, not at all! I don't know him," Gu Xiaoer replied, somewhat anxious; she didn't want to become the latest rumor among these neighbors who loved to gossip!

"Oh, what's there to be shy about! I saw it myself just now, such a luxurious car! Tsk tsk, such a tall man, and so handsome too. Xiao Er, you did well finding this boyfriend!" Aunt Yang became more and more excited as she spoke.

Gu Xiaoer was embarrassed; Aunt Yang hadn't seen Han Luoli, who was way more handsome than this man in black! But what did his handsomeness have to do with her anyway?

Standing beside her, her daughter Yang Xue, in her high heels, looked disdainful: "Mom, what nonsense are you talking about? Since when does Gu Xiaoer have a boyfriend?!"

Gu Xiaoer frowned. The last person she wanted to see in the whole neighborhood was Yang Xue. Not for any other reason, but because she was Lin Kexin's classmate and had never missed a chance to mock her with snide remarks. Seeing Yang Xue's flashy attire, Gu Xiaoer knew she was heading to Lin Kexin's dinner party as well.
