Amanda's POV.
I was about to get settled on the sofa when I heard a knock on the door. I knew it would be no apart from Annie, I guess she'd be dying to know how her so-called Mr. Hot or Hottie…whatever--is nothing but a man whore and I can't wait to see her facial expression when I terribly criticize him.
"Ammy!" She exclaimed calling my name happily when I opened the door, and she wasted no time pulling me into a tight, crushing hug like I've gone missing for years.
"A-An-nie, I'm choking ri-right here," I managed to say, struggling to get away from her tight grip and get air in my suffocated lungs.
"Ammy," She withdrew away from me at last and cupped my cheeks with her small hands, and stared deeply into my eyes.
"You are so adorable," She mouthed with a cute pout with those delicate lips of hers, while I rolled my eyes at her.
"I know," I scoffed and removed her hands from my cheeks while she flickered her lashes at me.
'I wonder what's going through her mind, now,' I thought curiously, maintaining eye contact with those emerald eyes of hers staring intimately at me.
"What?" I arched a brow at her questioningly.
"Tell me everything that happened at work today and most, especially your encounter with Mr. Hottie," She smirked and dragged me into the living room before we both settled on the sofa.
"Thought you wouldn't ask," I snickered and faced her with a smirk appearing on the corner of my lips while she anticipated what I was about to say.
"Well, nothing is interesting to say about your Mr. Hot as you call him," I said dryly, and her brows furrowed at me confusedly.
"First, it's hottie—"
"Whatever," I scoffed and shifted towards the edge of the seat away from her and folded my legs on the seat.
Annie glared at me wondering why I created some space between us and pulled me by my wrist as a loud yelp escaped my lips.
"Ow! What's that for?" I asked, surprised that she hissed and smacked my exposed legs as I jolted up.
"Hey, that hurts!" I cried out, rubbing my poor skin she hit with her hand.
"That's for saying there's nothing interesting to say about my crush," Annie humph and crossed her arms over her chest as she looked away and I smiled.
"Well, it's the truth… nothing is interesting about him—"
"That's impossible! Get off it and tell me what happened at your work, I know there's a lot you want to tell me," Annie snapped, and I tried to conceal my amusement at her outburst.
'She's gone serious, right now,'
"What exactly are you dying to know?" I asked nonchalantly, smirking at her as I raised a brow at her.
"Amm—"
"Okay!" I interrupted her, surrendering my hands to her to shun her. If I didn't tell her right away, she would only be a pain in the ass for me.
"My day was terrible…" I paused and took notice of her face as she stared at me waiting for me to continue, I rolled my eyes and adjusted myself properly on the seat.
"And hectic—"
"Cut the crap," She waved me off with her hands, demonstrating she had heard enough of what seemed to be nonsense I was saying to her.
"Move to the interesting part, who cares if your job was terrible and hectic, it's always like that in everyone's job," She scoffed and scrunched up her face while I bit my lower lips cursing her below my breath.
"There's this receptionist who is annoy—"
"Ammy, can you move to the fascinating part I'm waiting for… I care less about the crazy receptionist at your workplace, right now, I'm getting bored." She feigned yawning and rolled her eyes at me, while I felt like kicking her.
I knew she was more peculiar about my encounter with my boss and what's like.
"Okay then, about my boss—" I moved back suddenly when I realized how she clung to me like glue.
"Yes, I'm listening," She said with keen interest, while I sighed.
'Honestly, I don't understand why you ladies fantasize so much about that man, he's nothing but a womanizer and man whore,' I burst out in annoyance, remembering what I saw him do in the office and how he also held me.
'He has no shame,' I scoffed annoyingly.
'Though even I can't argue the fact that he was so strikingly handsome, and I wished my man if I would ever have one and hope he would have the looks and features of him but not his crazy character or attitude,'
'And he created some butterflies in your stomach too,' My mind added.
'Shut up!'
"What do you mean by man whore?" Annie asked, but I heard her faintly, I was so deep in my thoughts and forgot she was even with me.
"Ammy!" I felt someone tapping me.
"Huh," I answered absentmindedly to realize Annie was staring worriedly at me.
"Are you okay? You zoned out a bit," She said, staring intensely into my eyes.
"Yeah, sure,"
"You get too worried easily," I smiled at her, hitting her shoulder playfully.
"As I was saying," I grinned, clasping my hands together.
"Yeah continue, you said he's a man whore, did you see something?" She asked eagerly.
I couldn't help but laugh, I told her about how my boss smooched up a lady in his office while Annie was screaming my ears off with crazy surprises.
"He pulled you close to him?" Annie questioned in excitement.
"It was unexpected," I rolled my eyes, remembering my encounter with him.
"Aww, that's sweet," She cooed, and I snapped my head, glaring at her.
"What's sweet there?" I asked annoyingly.
'Has she lost her mind? Didn't she hear all that I said about this man?' I thought, staring at her as if she had lost her mind.
Cause, certainly that's how it looks like.
"Did he kiss you?" She asked, ignoring my question.
"Annie!" I almost screamed her name, like had she run mad as my eyes widened at her, how could she ask that of all things?
I stood up from the seat and grabbed the cushion pillow and threw it at her, but she caught it immediately sticking her tongue at me.
"We didn't kiss and that's not going to happen… ever," I placed my left palm over my forehead and sighed.
"I'll tell you that statement you said when you two finally kiss," She laughed while I snatched the pillow from her and hit her with it.
She made muffled whimpers and laughed at the same time.
"You just need to capture his heart, you're beautiful and attractive already," Annie added.
"You talk as if you don't know this man at all, I'm sure you keep tabs on him."
"He is a playboy who lives with Barbie-doll women tripping and falling for him and hanging on to their arms like limpets while he changes them like diapers," I scoffed.
"And I'm not up to the likes of those ladies at all, what makes you think he would fall for me," I hissed.
"You can never tell," Annie shrugged and wrapped her arms around the cushion pillow.
I know none of this was my concern, but Annie had opened up a train of thought which was normally kept safely locked away, and, like opening a Pandora's box, I could feel all those toxic thoughts uncurling from their dark corners and slithering through my head.
"You're unbelievable," I muttered irritably, glancing at Annie, who had switched on the television and made herself comfortable in her space.
I sighed and made my way to the kitchen to prepare some chocolate muffins for us.
