Amya could not believe her eyes as she stared at the person standing right in front of her. At first she thought she was seeing things but when she saw his handsome face and magnificent bright blue eyes and those luscious pink lips spread into a dashing smile, she knew that she wasn't dreaming. "David!! You!! How! What are you doing here?" Asked Amya in a disbelieving tone. "Well surprise! Aren't you... going to welcome me in! Its quite freezing out here", said David whilst chuckling. "Of course! Please come in!", said Amya whilst ushering David inside the house.
After David entered the house Amya ushered him into the living room where her grandmother was sitted whilst watching Tv. "Grandmother! I would like to introduce you to someone. This is David Perrington my boss and also....my boyfriend. And David this is my grandmother, Mrs Esme Cora.", introduced Amya. "Welcome David. Its really nice to meet you", said Esme whilst standing up and extending her hand to David for a greeting handshake. "Thank for welcoming me Mrs Cora. And its really an honor to finally meet you. Amya has told me a lot about you", said David whilst shaking Esme's hand. "Is that so.. Well I hope it was something good because this girl used to be a 'one'." Said Esme whilst winking at David. "Grandma!!" Exclaimed whilst her face was beet red with embarrassment. "(Chuckling) Don't worry Mrs Cora, it was all good", said David.
"Well don't just stand there come in and have a sit. Amber is preparing some hot chocolate and Ivy is still preparing dinner. Please come in", said Esme whilst gesturing David to sit on the couch. "Thank you Mrs Cora", said David whilst sitting on the couch. "Well I am going to my room now to freshen up before mom finishes making that hot chocolate. Ummm...David did you bring any luggage. I could show you to the guest room so that you could also freshen up before dinner?" Asked Amya. "Uh! Don't worry my love. I am not staying here. I already found a very good apartment to live in for the holidays. So don't worry. I actually just came over to see you and inform you that I was in town and that I am going to be spending the holidays with you", said David. "Well thats wonderful. That way you can also attend the Christmas charity, auction jubilee ball that is always held on the 25th of December every year at the Town's hall. It has been a tradition that has been undertaken for many years. The money earned will be used to cater for the vulnerable of the community like orphans, widows and the disabled", said Esme. "Well that's great! I will be very honored to partipate in this event and also contribute a lot in the spirit of Christmas. I can't wait for the big day", replied David in an enthusiastic tone.
"Well.. I better be going now. I will be back soon", said Amya whilst taking hold of her luggage and heading upstairs to her bedroom. Her bedroom just like the rest of the house did not change much. And it seems that grandmother still kept it the way it was eversince she left with her mother to go and live in the city. From her peach colored blanket covered double mahogany bed, to her peach colored heart shaped
Mahogany wardrobe and dressing table. Her grandfather really loved mahogany wood, so much that it covered 90% of the entire house. After placing her travel bags on the bed. Amya went to the bathroom to freshen up and change into a new set of warm clothes.
Just as she was about to leave the room to go downstairs to the kitchen to drink the hot chocolate that her mom made, a slight gush of wind entered through the open window and caused the wind chime hanged on the window's bar to make a small sound. Amya walked towards the window, and took a look at the beautiful flower and heart crafted wind chime hanging on the window's bar. A tiny picture of a small pretty light brown curlied hair girl sitting on a bench beside a small golden brown haired boy with a dashing smile on his face. "Whenever you feel scared or alone. This wind chime will always remind you that, you are not alone and when you need some saving I will always be there for you no matter what", this was the voice of the little boy ringing inside Amya's thoughts. Amya felt guilt and pain flood into her heart at the memory of that day under the bright summer sun at the park. The one day she managed to sneak out from her mother's watch, to spent some time with the little boy that she had met in the park one day. The only boy she had met and interacted with. The boy that promised to never leave her side no matter what but instead, she was the one that left him.
