When Ryan came back the next morning, he found his bedroom empty and the bed spick and span.
He put down all his stuff before he went to the other master bedroom.
On the bed, his spouse and their adopted son lay cuddled together, sleeping peacefully. The dark rings around Aiden's eyes suggested that he had not slept well for the past two days. He must have spent many hours tending to the sick little boy in his arms. Liam still looked somewhat pale, but his fever already went away.
Aiden awoke when he felt an additional weight pressing next to him. Behind him, Ryan put his arms around his body and kissed his cheek.
"Good morning, my love."
"Mm, welcome back."
Aiden rolled on the bed and faced his husband. He put a hand against Ryan's cheek. It was cold from the weather outside.
Ryan took Aiden's relatively warm hand and pressed a kiss on the palm.
"How is the little piglet doing these past two days?" Ryan asked.
Aiden furrowed his brows.
