An Unexpected Visitor

The afternoon sun streamed through the windows of the Greene household, casting a warm, golden glow across the cozy living room. Alaric was in his room, flipping through a book with mild interest, trying to unwind after a long day at school. The recent events had left him with plenty on his mind, but for now, he allowed himself a rare moment of peace.

Suddenly, he heard the doorbell ring, followed by the cheerful voice of his little sister, Lucy, shouting from downstairs. "Big brother! There's someone here to see you!"

Alaric's brow furrowed in confusion. He wasn't expecting any visitors, and his friends rarely dropped by unannounced. Setting his book aside, he stood up and made his way downstairs, curiosity piqued. As he reached the bottom of the staircase, he heard his mother's voice, laced with amusement.
