Chapter 9 Cold Winter

Jason stand's by a road covered in snow he watches by a SUV a hunting rifle slung around his shoulder winter has come around again this time worse. He hears footsteps beside him Samantha stand's by his side she shivers her nose and finger's are red her breath is visible.

"Why does it have to be so damn cold" Jason leans against the SUV the metal is cold and sends a cold chill down his spine "well at least the undead can't catch us." Samantha let's out a chuckle "come on it's warmer inside the SUV Jason and Samantha lay in the back of the SUV Samantha rubs her hand's together.

Jason take's her hand's into his Samantha's cheeks redden her hand's are freezing Jason pulls Samantha closer he take's her glasses off and kisses her. Chloe wakes up in a different car with a slender arm wrapped around her Amelia sleep's soundly next to her Chloe started having feelings for Amelia and so was she Hannah sleep's in the passenger and Mia in the driver seat.

Chloe untangles herself from Amelia's arm's she slips out of the truck in thick winter clothes snow fall's everywhere she walk's past the SUV where. Jason and Samantha stay she walk's further down the road to a crossroad.

She stand's there for a second and pulls out a bottle of pills pain killer's very strong one's she pop's one in her mouth and her brain goes numb she walk's back to the truck. But hears a twig snap she spin's around thinking she is high or she might be endanger.

She stand's there for a few second's the sound of more twig's snap Chloe take's a few step's backwards a deer jump's out from some bushes Chloe chuckles. She walk's back to the truck's and sees Jason standing out of the SUV he has messy hair and is tying his shoe lace.

Jason turn's to Chloe "hey sis we'll be heading out soon so make sure you gather all of you're guy's stuff we need to head out before Thomas find's us and well we don't want to die."

Jason move's through the snow the wind has picked up and snow fals is gliding to the ground Jason scan's the area for undead and people as they move through the snow a vehicle is heard. "Everyone hide" Jason and Samantha jump into a bush while the other's hide behind tree's a large bandit truck drive's past with large spike's with skulls stabbed on the top.

A chain is hanging from the back and drags a group of undead along the snow the truck drive's further away from them Jason walk's out of the bush. The world is starting to get more dangerous everyday Jason and the group keep moving more further into the snow as they keep walking the truck comes back and they see them.

Everyone run's into the wood's Jason hears shouting from behind a few bullet's whiz past his head Jason look's back at the group he then feel's a small prick hit him in the neck. His body becomes numb and he fall's the the ground the last then he see's before he fall's unconscious is the girl's on the ground being carried away.

Samantha sits in a jail cell she has a bruise on her cheek and a cut on her lip she look's at her glasses they are cracked a man walk's in with Chloe by the back of her neck a shotgun pointed at her back. She is thrown into the jail cell opposite to Samantha Chloe has a large fresh scar going down her arm Chloe sigh's and sits on the bed.

"we're never getting out of here are we?" Samantha nods "it's been two week's now Chloe I think we ain't getting out" Samantha has found out that this place is a police station and a group of prisoners have taken it over. They capture survivors and use them as entertainment mostly women are taken and the men are just left alone.

Samantha has no hope she is getting out she always hopes that Jason will burst through those door's any minute. She wonder's everyday if he is out there trying to find her but she can't help but think he's giving up.

Jason stand's by a man tied onto a chair Jason punches him in the rib's "you can tell me where you're friend's have taken my friend's or I'm gonna start breaking finger's." The man nods quickly "okay okay I'll tell you they are held up at the old police station will you let me go now?" Jason nods and stabs a knife in his neck.

He cleans the blade with the man's shirt Jason walk's out of the old grocery store it has taken him this long to find them they where in a new town that took a long time to get to as he interrogated every bandit he came across. This is the first one that has ever talked he walk's to the police station the moon light make's the place look abandoned.

Cop car's are burnt and broken large chain linked fences surround the police station two guard's stand by the front gate Jason grabs a bunch of snow and packs it into a snow ball. He throw's it at one of them they look around confused Jason throws another one.

"Who ever is doing that fuck off" Jason throws another one this time the man is fuming and is walking towards the corner Jason hide's in the shadow's the man is right next to him he mutters to himself. Jason grabs him and stabs him in the throat repeatedly the man gurgles on blood surprise and fear is on his face.

Jason walk's to the other guard and throw's a knife into his head the man crumples to the ground Jason walk's to the entrance Jason hears voice's inside. He move's in slowly red paint is all over the wall's or is it blood Jason see's two guard's walk towards him he hide's behind a desk "that one with the glasses is smoking hot I'm gonna have a piece of her later."

Jason feel's rage build up inside of him this is a new feeling as Jason starts to lose control so does his mind the smell of blood and the sound of screaming wakes him up Jason stand's in the middle of the police station.

Corpses are everywhere Jason see's a reflection of himself he is covered head to toe in blood he look's at his hand's bullet hole's are in the wall's and ceiling bullet casing's are everywhere. Jason walk's down to the jail cell's to see a man crawling with a blood trail following behind him he look's back "no no stay away you fucking freak."

Jason walk's over to him and grabs the jail keys that are by his belt Jason see's a large gash going down the man's back and leg he already knows he ain't going to live long Jason walk's to the cells and starts unlocking them. Samantha walk's out and wraps her arm's around him Jason hold's her close.

"What took you so long."
