Chapter 16 The Attack

Jason sits at the table looking at the issue "how did they get not one but two working tanks?" Victoria shrugs "they next to a factory that used to make tanks back when everything was normal we also know that the factory has a reactor under it which we're gonna have an infiltration team overload it" Jason sighs "do we have anything that can stop them like explosives?" Victoria nods but not much.

Jason follows Victoria they go into a large shipping container where a box of C4 is being kept "I hope this is a enough"

Everyone gathers into the centre of the camp Jason see's Victoria stand on a box "listen up the leaders have told me we are to going to attack a compound it's heavily guarded and will be dangerous but."

"These people have something that we need to have home that we are safe and our children are safe in I can't lie to you not everyone will come back but we can do this we will attack in five hours get your things ready say goodbye to your families."

Everyone starts going back to their tents Jason goes to his and sits there he sighs this is gonna be hell and he thinks everyone knows it the tent opens up and Samantha walks in she gives him a slight smile "hey you okay?" Jason nods "just nervous." Samantha sits next to him.

"Just stay safe okay" Samantha give him a kiss on the cheek "I'm not losing you again" Jason nods he sees Chloe walk in "we're moving out." Jason kisses Samantha and then leaves Jason crouches behind a box Chloe is next to him He holds a rifle in his hand.

"What is the signal again Jason" as she says that a loud explosion is heard Jason stands up shooting two guards they move through the gates the compounds wailing sirens echo on the grounds this will attract the undead for sure Jason and Chloe move into the compound the tanks are destroyed and Samantha and Amelia are taking out a few guards.

Jason moves with the group into a large building gun fire is muffled outside the walls of the building and the room is slightly light by a small lightbulb.

Jason goes to a box which has crowbar next to it he pops it open to sees a large generator "that's gonna take a lifting" Samantha is next to Jason "you've got an idea" Jason shrugs "a few."

The door on the other end of the building opens up Henry runs in with Victoria and a few others "we've got most of them the rest have started running."

Jason shakes his head "this feels odd it was too easy" as he says that a gunshot is heard and Samantha is hit right in the leg Jason grabs her and drags her behind a humvee Samantha groans "oh that hurt" Jason puts pressure on the wound he then hears Tomas.

"Oh Jason come out or I blow off that traitors leg you see the bullet in her carries a small payload which by a click of a button" he does a mocking explosion Samantha looks at Jason.

"Don't listen to him" Jason sighs "okay I'm coming out Jason has his hands up Thomas smiles he stands on the balcony he looks different he jumps from the balcony with loud thud he holds a black box with a switch in his hands.

"Oh I've got to thank you for this Jason your blood has given me this" he clicks his neck Jason ball up his fist "this is between you and me put the device down leave Samantha out of this."

Thomas laughs "she was supposed to take you to me but what did she do she fell in love huh what a weak hearted person" Jason see's Thomas deactivate the box "but you oh you are strong cunning you could have joined me we could have ruled the world with these powers at our fingertips."

Jason sighs "lets get this over with." Jason runs towards Thomas he kicks Thomas pushing him backwards Thomas smiles and runs at Jason they start punching and dodging Chloe goes over to Samantha and helps her up "we need to help" Chloe nods.

Jason doge's a right hook and upper cuts Thomas in the jaw sending him into a bunch of metal spikes Thomas stands up and pulls out a spike which has impaled him in the thigh.

Thomas smiles "you've gotten even stronger but can you dodge this" he starts throwing spikes at Jason he dodges a few but one clips the side on his torso Jason grunts in pain.

Thomas walks over with the spike but as he walks over a humvee slams into him sending him flying through the air Samantha gets out helping up Jason "we have to go."

Jason shakes his head "no I'm....staying I need to finish this he'll keep coming if I don't kill him go now" Samantha holds Jason "don't do this we've got it we can go this place is rigged to blow soon" Jason puts a hand on her face wiping tears "I'll be alright I promise I'll get out go" Samantha kisses him "you better be out before this place blows."

Samantha gets in the humvee "drive" Jason see's Thomas get up his arm has bone sticking out of it but is pulled back in.

"You gonna die here" Jason runs at Thomas Samantha looks out the window of the vehicle she bites her lip her radio buzzes to life "the reactor is overloaded everyone in the factory get out of the blast radius" Samantha looks at the factory "come on Jason hurry up."

Jason is thrown into the balcony he is exhausted he stands up a large cut is on his face and he has blood coming from the nose Thomas leaps into the balcony now covered in black lines.

Jason is punched in the chest which sends him hitting the wall Thomas chuckles "look what you have done to me I feel powerful."

Jason tries to get up but he is kneed in the head Jason feels his nose break Thomas pulls out a knife and stabs it into Jason's shoulder.

He pulls it out "you're weak I thought you were to be the strongest of us but now I see you I will enjoy hurting you."

But as he says that a very loud boom is heard and Jason is thrown out of the balcony he smells fire smoke and burnt skin he looks up and his vision is blurry he stands up to see Thomas is half burnt he stands there "you can't kill me I will follow you until I kill you."

Jason pulls up his arms ready to fight Thomas runs at him Jason dodges his tackle punching him in the back of the head making Thomas tumble Jason feels his right arm is in pain it's all burnt and two of his fingers are missing.

He sees a desert eagle next to him he picks it up Thomas stands up he has a bunch of skin falling off showing the flesh under his skin is black lines everywhere.

Thomas smiles he charges at him Jason points the pistol at him and pulls the trigger the bullets hits him making him recoil backwards untill Jason kicks Thomas.

Thomas fumbles backwards he laughs "you think you can stop me I'm..." he's cut off when above him a large pile of metal beams stab into him.

Jason limps over he sees Thomas look at him his black lines disappears he looks up at him "I'm sorry...Jason I don't know what happened."

He coughs blood "the doctor he's the one who done this turned me against you" Thomas reaches out his hand Jason takes it "goodbye brother" Thomas draws his final breath Jason sighs "goodbye old friend."

Jason stands up he is pulled back to reality when a loud explosion throws him to the ground he limps to the door fire has spreads everywhere Jason is greeted by the sunlight.

Jason hears an even louder explosion this one throws debris everywhere a large piece of metal his Jason in the leg falls down and looks at the large ball off fire the undead start to finally arrive.

Jason closes his eyes "Samantha I'm...sorry" his eyes start to get heavy he hears his own heart beat start to slow down he sees a humvee stop next to him he is then grabbed by two people and loaded in the back his head rest on something soft he looks up to see a figure stroking his face.
