Reunion

Gail arrived in London, England where Sophia's wedding was held. As she arrived at the wedding banquet, the wedding just started. She stood outside at the entrance looking at Sophia as she walks down the aisle. Gail was proud of Sophia, after she was gone for more than ten years, Sophia grew up to be a fine lady. Gail watched as Sophia kissed her husband. When the wedding ended, there was an after-party where people can take photo with the bride or just relax at the fine dining room until dinner is served.

Gail enters and saw Sophia, looking so bright and beautiful.

"Sophia!" As Gail waved at her, Sophia looked in front of her and was speechless.

"Gail!" Sophia cried as she hugged Gail. "I missed you so much! We haven't talked in ten years or so. I thought you've forgotten about me!" Gail hugged her back unable to talk clearly, "Hm. I missed you too. I thought I was never going to see you." Gail wiped her tears and said, "You look absolutely gorgeous." Sophia smiled as she wiped her tears away. "Does mom and dad know?" Gail nodded, "I told them not to tell you I was coming. Sorry for not telling you." Sophia shook her head, "I'm glad you came. Sorry I didn't introduce them yet. This is my husband, Matt. My friend, Kate and Tiffany. Guys, this is my older sister, Gail. Our parents adopted her but due to some circumstances, she left for Tokyo and studied over there." Kate and Tiffany were speechless, "Sophia, you never told us that! You should've told us." Sophia shook her head again, "My parents told me not to mention about Gail ever since she left. They said it's to protect her privacy. I'm sorry guys." Tiffany and Kate nodded, "It's great that you guys reunited. You guys will have lots to catch up on." Gail and Sophia laughed and hugged each other again.

"Gail, where are you going to stay? Are you thinking of going back or...?" Sophia asked as they sat on the dining table. "I'm leaving tomorrow for Tokyo. I work in the police station and it's gotten really busy. I'm staying at the Plaza Hotel beside this place." Sophia widened her eyes, "Me too! Matt and I booked that hotel too. We can catch up on more tonight." Gail smiled as she sipped her iced coffee. "Sophia, how many months now?" As Gail looked at her prominent pregnancy bump. "Three months and a bit more." Sophia smiled.

"Can I feel it?" Gail asked curiously.

"Sure. You can talk to him." Sophia said.

"Be healthy, little baby." Gail smiled as she talks to the unborn child. "I bet he will be so cute." Sophia laughed. "I just hope everything will go smoothly." Gail took a glance at Matt and noticed something weird. Gail shook her head and thought... I must be tired.

"Gail, how are your foster parents?" Sophia asked.

"My foster mother passed away when I was in high school and my foster father was the one who supported me throughout my high school years until now. Right now, he is still working in Tokyo government agency. When we were seperated, it was kind of abrupt but I do understand about your parents situation. So I didn't want to say anything that can hurt you guys. Your parents brought me up since I was really young. I was very thankful." Gail was feeling so nostalgic when talking to Sophia. It's been too long.

"Sophia, how did you meet Matt?" Gail asked.

"Long story short, when we graduated from university, Matt's friend and a great brother, Peter hosted a post graduation party for the alumnis. I met Matt through my friend Kate. After push and pull with her, I finally decided to give Matt a try. We met several times after the party and we've been on several dates. Then, I liked him. When we went for another date few weeks later... he confessed to me. Then we kind of slept together and that's how it happened. It happened 4 months ago. I know we married quite early and we only dated several times but Matt was different. Different than other guys I've met. I've fell in love with him because he was very independent and mature. He is very filial. After his mom passed away from cancer, we got very close. He is every girl's dream, handsome, responsible, mature, warm hearted and kind. After I was pregnant with Matt's child, he decided that we get married first. I understand about his family situation and my parents also supported me because they know about Matt's situation through Kate and Kate is Matt's close friend. So mom and dad told me to keep him. Matt works for Peter's dad and I also work as an clinical assistant at a hospital before but right now, Matt wants me to stay at home because he is worried about my health." Sophia said. "Matt is really caring. His father commited suicide in a forest in Japan and it affected him a lot. He had nightmares quite a lot and he's been seeing a lot of weird things. But all in all, Matt is a great guy. I got to know him more and more everyday. I never regret it." Gail stayed silent as she listened.

"Wow, that's quite long." Gail was surpried but she suddenly made a stern face, "Sophia, after we get back to our hotel room. I need to tell you something important." Sophia nodded and agreed.

Whatever Gail was going to share, Sophia hoped it won't be anything bad.
