Party!

Sophia was so excited after college is officially done. She was ecstatic because finally she can experience the freedom of no exams and classes.

"Sophia! Sophia!" Kate came running with a huge smile on her face.

"What is up with you?" Sophia asked Kate curiously.

"There's a post graduation party tonight at Peter's house! We need to go! I know someone who will be perfect match for you." Kate chuckled.

"I don't want to go, there are too many people." Sophia sighed.

"You sure you don't want to go?" Kate asked.

"I don't know... how about this? I'll leave early if the party is meh." Sophia said.

"Let's go then!"

Sophia went back home with Kate and then decides to ask Kate.

"Hey, which dress suits me? This light blue one or the black one?" Kate thought about it.

"Try the blue one. It suits you more."

"Okay."

"What time does it start, Kate?"

"7PM" Kate checked her phone and confirmed it.

"We should head there in 1 hour. Let's get our make up done." Sophia and Kate spends the last hour fixing up and making sure everything is alright.

"All set." Steve, Kate's older brother came and picked us up.

"Yo! you guys ready? I heard this party will be huge." Steve gave us a huge smile and kindly opened up the door for us.

"Sophia, you look gorgeous. You should date me. I'll make you happy." Kate punched his older brother on the shoulder and scolded him.

"Don't even think about dating my best friend. You're not her type." Sophia laughed and smiled.

"Steve, are we there yet?" Kate asked.

"We should be turning this way then go straight." Steve looked at his gps and it said another 10 minutes or so.

After several minutes, they finally arrived.

"Guys, I'll pick you guys up at 12am. Don't drink too much." Steve warned us. Kate yelled, "We won't!"

As Steve's car heads in the distance, I looked at the huge mansion with awe.

Kate tapped my shoulder and whispered to me, "Hey Sophia, you see that guy over there? His name is Matt. He's the top valedictorian at his university. I've known him since forever since he's my mom's best friend's son. He is such a gentleman and so handsome. Wanna talk to him now?" Kate nudged me. I grinned and ignored her.

"Let's go in and see others. Come on!" I pulled Kate's wrist and dragged her in.

Allie found us and was so happy to see us.

"Sophia, Kate!! Over here!" As we went to Allie, Peter greeted us.

"Welcome to my house! You guys already know me so I won't introduce myself. But, I would like you to meet my fiancee, Tiffany. We are getting married next month." Peter held onto Tiffany's hand and kissed her.

"Ooooh... Tiffany, you got a good man." Kate chuckled.

"You guys already got my wedding invitation, correct?" We all nodded.

"I'm really happy for you guys." Sophia said.

"Sophia, are you dating anyone? I remembered you dated someone. Am I correct?" Tiffany asked.

"No. I think you've been mistaken. I broke up with Tim long time ago." I corrected her.

"I am sorry. I can introduce you to another wonderful man. He's actually at the party now. Speak of the devil, here he comes." Matt walked towards us and smiled.

Matt looked at Sophia and smiled at her.

"May I know your name? My name is Matt. Nice meeting you."

"My name is Sophia. Nice meeting you as well." Kate nudged me and gave me a wide smile.

"Matt, this is my best friend. I've talked with you about it. Remember?" Matt nodded.

"Yes. Now that you've mentioned it." Matt looked at Sophia and said, "You look very beautiful." Sophia smiled back and said thanks.

"Sophia, if we still have time after dinner. Can I get to know you better?" Sophia didn't know what to say. Kate nudged her and whispered, "This is your chance! Don't lose it." Sophia nodded and said yes in a jiffy.

Matt smiled and said, "I'll talk to my professors since they are here. Sophia, I'll see you soon." Matt winked at Sophia as he heads the other way.

Kate was so excited, "Sophia, you did great! I didn't tell you this but Matt never dated anyone nor does he like anyone before. He's interested in you because I told him you are a great friend to me and you got a wonderful personality." Sophia nodded as she took all of the information in.

"Kate, thank you! You're the best but next time, you don't have to do this." Kate pouted and pretended to be pissed off.

"You will like Matt trust me." Kate smiled.

"Guys! Dinner is starting! Please find your assigned seat." As everyone heads in, Matt came to us and said, "Our seat is on this side. Follow me." As we got to our seat, Kate told Sophia she needed to go to the washroom. Sophia nodded and told her to come back quickly.

"Matt, stay with her." Kate giving Matt the I'm watching you look and Matt understood.

Sophia smiled and didn't want to look too obvious. "Sophia, I am sorry for earlier. I wasn't able to talk to you because my profs were there." Sophia shook her head, "It's fine. I'm glad you talked to them. Is it your first time here?" She asked.

"Yes. I was suppose to go to another party tonight but that was cancelled. So, this is your first time at Peter's house right?" Sophia nodded.

"Peter's house is huge, I've already had a tour inside out. I can bring you and look around if you want. You can bring Kate too if you're not comfortable with me alone."

"That will be great." Sophia smiled.

Kate was back when she spotted us smiling at each other.

"Sophia! After dinner, I'll join with Allie to play some games. Let's go or do you guys want to talk to each other more?"

"Kate, Matt is going show me around after dinner. Wanna come?" Kate patted me on the shoulder, "I'll cheer you guys on! Matt, don't make her cry. I'm watching you." Kate stuck her tongue out. Sophia chuckled. Matt signalled her okay.

Matt leaned closer to Sophia and said, "I'll pretend I don't know her. Sophia, are you okay with me tonight?" Sophia nodded.

"Thank you, Matt. You're really helpful."

As we finished up dinner, Kate signalled me to have fun with Matt. I told her okay.

"Sophia, can I let you meet someone?" Matt asked Sophia.

"Sure. Who?" Sophia was curious. Matt signalled a beautiful lady and she looked at us.

"This is my older sister, Isabelle. She's the event coordinator for tonight." Sophia said hi and Isabelle asked, "Are you Sophia? I heard about you from Kate. Her parents are my parent's bestfriend so we all know about you. Kate told us about you for quite some time and even I was curious about you. You look wonderful tonight. Hope you enjoy your time with my younger brother. Just make sure he doesn't get drunk." Isabelle whispered to Sophia.

"I'll make sure. It's very nice meeting you." Sophia was happy and surprised at the same time. She was glad Matt's family doesn't seem that bad.

"Sophia, should we have a tour?" She nodded.
