As the captive mage was brought to the shore, the crowd from Magic Hermitage began to swell around them.

Elias quickly glanced around; about thirty mages had gathered. 

The town, usually deserted, had never seen such a collective turnout before.

This was probably because the town's location in a semi-circular bay. To prevent Chairman's people from smuggling themselves out, they were scattered along the coast, like Tilly's cottage, which was a few kilometers away.

Elias couldn't help but edge closer, curious about the mage's claim that "Chairman has started eating people."

He'd heard of supernaturals going mad after a backlash, but cannibalism was definitely a rarity.

As the captured mage's panic escalated, Tilly's expression darkened, and a palpable sense of oppression filled the air.

"Cut the crap, my time is valuable."

"Tell me everything that's happening on the island, or it's back to feeding the fishes with you."
