After Laura began working as Jeb Lewis's assistant at M. Entertainment, her life in Las Vegas took an unexpected turn.

It had started as a simple work arrangement, a chance for her to begin again, concentrate on her job, and raise Joan in a place that enabled her to put her past behind her.

She temporarily stayed at Crystal's place and planned to obtain their place once she was financially stable.

Crystal was more than happy to have her to chat with and keep her company after a long, tiring day at work. Each day, they would only see each other at breakfast, then after work, for a couple of hours, they would go out in the garden and recall their daily activities.

They interact hardly with their neighbors, James and Akira Jones. Ever since Laura moved in, they have asked the twins to come to their house instead of Crystal's.

The twins took Joan as their little sister and even bragged about it to Aiden while chatting online and at school.
