11: I hope you can handle my hate

"Hi." Amber greeted, trying to be as normal as possible, he didn't know she didn't, and she wouldn't want to give herself away.

"Hi?" Dante scoffed with disbelief.

"Do you want to come in?" Amber asked with a hiccup while Dante stared at her, his eyes filled with disgust.

"You stink." He pointed out causing Amber to lower her head to hide the hurt that flashed in her eyes.

"I know, so are you coming in or what?" She inquired her voice going cold all of a sudden.

"Look, if this is about last night, it can't work between us, it was nothing but a spur of the moment- a tryst."

It hurts her so much to say these words to him, but it's the best thing to do, if he dismisses her, there's nothing her family can do, that way he can keep his company afloat.

"So it was you." Dante's last thread of hope snapped right at that moment.

He had really wished it wasn't her, he really hoped it wasn't her, but it seems fate had a way of turning things around.

"What? Forgot who you fucked?" It was probably the alcohol giving her such confidence, on a normal day she wouldn't be able to speak like this.

Taking in a deep breath, Dante pulled out his phone and showed it to her in with an icy expression.

The original dead pan look on Amber's face the moment she saw the pictures broke, how? He wasn't supposed to know.

Who the hell sent him these pictures?!

Pictures of when she went to meet with her family's agent to give them an important document, and screenshots of her sending the designs to the agent.

"Why?!" Dante yelled, slamming his hand on the door post.

He needs to understand why she would do it, or he might lose his mind.

Amber gulped, recollecting that her mother was calling her prior to the moment, she probably found out and wanted to warn her about it.

Taking a glance at the picture again, Amber knew that she couldn't let her family be dragged into this, if she alone was caught it's better, but putting the whole family down will be terrible.

They might never be able to get back up from the scandal.

"Why not?" Amber nonchalantly handed the phone back to Dante, who was stunned by her response.

Going back inside, Amber undid her ponytail as she sat on the bed, grabbing another bottle of alcohol and gulping it down.

"I hate stuck up rich bastards like you." She started off, clenching her fist hard to ignore the pain, she was feeling in her heart.

"You think the world revolve around you just because you are rich, while us poor people work our butt off to make you all even richer."

There she did it, counting herself among the poor will lead the suspicion away from her family.

"A designer was desperate for a promotion and I decided to help her with it, you have enough money to recover from the damage either ways." Amber shrugged before smirking, standing on her feet and walking towards Dante.

"Last night was good though, I finally managed to know how rich boys fuck, you exceeded my expectations." Amber whispered while trailing her hands on his chin.

Dante shook with anger as he stared down at her grey eyes, his blue one's red with anger and pain.

He hated the fact he loved such a vile, disgusting woman, his eyelashes wet with tears that he refused to let spill as his chest heaved up and down.

"Well, it was nice knowing you while it lasted, I would rather not see you again, your very existence disgusts me, you don't know how hard it was having to cope with working for you."

Amber sneered, removing her hand from his chin, ready to leave when Dante immediately raised his, his hand stopping just a few inches from her cheek.

No, he would never stoop low enough to her level, he would never hit a woman for anything.

"Woah, the big boy got some anger in him." Amber chuckled as she stared at his palm.

Her eyes holding a lingering pain in them, she wished he had hit her, that way it will make the guilt in her heart ease up a bit.

At this moment, a light dimmed in Dante's eyes as he put his hands in his pocket looking coldly into the eyes in which he had grown accustomed to in the past few months, always happy to have it around him.

"Amber Talesman, this path you have chosen is a very dangerous one, you have seen my love, I hope you can handle my hate as well, you will regret this."

With that, Dante walked away not even looking back once, while Amber closed the door, her once haughty expression collapsing the moment she was alone.

Her phone rang out loud once more, but she felt too drained to pick it up.

Looking at the shattered bottle shards on the ground, a thought came to her mind.

She had done enough for her family and at this point, she doesn't even know if it's worth it anymore.

Taking a shard, Amber played with it on her wrist drawing blood, she has done the best she can do.

It's left to them to keep the company afloat, taking in a sharp breath, Amber cut herself, making sure the wound was deep enough.

A small smile formed on her face as she leaned on the door staring at the white ceiling.

"Dante I'm truly sorry." She muttered, slowly losing consciousness.

"Mom, dad, Clara." She really hopes her family will do well and not delve into such crime related activities again.

The white carpet on the floor was dyed red by Amber's blood as her eyelids felt heavy, slowly as eyes closed, a distant lullaby that was always sung to her as a child played in a head.

She felt warmth seeing the smile on the unknown woman's face as darkness engulfed her.
