Slowly the crowd gathered and soon almost all those that were invited were present. Among the first people to arrive were none other than Mr. McCain and Ms. Henshaw.
They were taken to the study where they are asked to wait for Melody.
A moment later, Melody was ready and joined them in the study. With her was little Pearl who insisted on going with the queen.
"Happy Birthday, Miss Nova," Ms. Henshaw greeted them and they exchanged kisses on the cheeks. Her eyes moved to the adorable little girl staring up at them and a mild but inwardly questioning of the child's background.
"Thank you, Ms. Henshaw. Welcome, Uncle Silas." Melody greeted the man who was the most welcoming among them all and the closest to her parents. "It means a lot to me that you made out the tune to come. You must have had a long trip here. Please have a seat."
