Chapter Twelve

IVY'S POV.

After my encounter with that woman,I was not myself anymore,I was very uneasy and I couldn't concentrate on my work.last thing I wanted now was my boss firing me.I knew she was going to tell on me.

I occasionally glanced at the telephone on my table as I waited patiently for him to call me and fire me but my telephone didn't ring.

Time seemed to speed up as I kept glancing at the clock.it was 2pm already and I haven't heard anything from him.Maybe he didn't see the need to fire me since I was just doing my job.a smile crept across my face,I was safe.

Just when I was about to go get myself a coffee,my phone rang and my heart skipped.

I brought my phone out and seeing that the caller was Rose,I heaved a sigh of relief.I was so foolish,how could I think my boss was the one calling,he doesn't have my phone number.

"Hello,Rose"

"Ivy,I am sorry for disturbing you at work,I just wanted to ask you a favor,"Rose said to me.

"What's that?"I asked.

"I will be coming home late today so I wanted to ask you if you can go grocery shopping for me"she said to me.

"Okay,there is no problem,"I replied."So what do you want me to buy?"I asked.

"I will send you the list of what I need,go to my room,you will see a drawer there,collect the money there"she said to me.

"Okay,bye"I replied before ending the call.

END OF IVY'S POV.

BACK IN LEON'S OFFICE.

Leon was going through some documents when he heard a knock."come in"he said and Dave walked in.

"Sir,I have done what you asked me to do"Dave said to him before handing him a file.

"So, everything I need is here"Leon said to him and Dave nodded."yes boss"

Although he had too much work to finish today,he would bring out time to read about Ivy's background.he has been patiently waiting for this.he smirked as he turned the pages, reading everything about her while Dave waited patiently to hear his next order.

"I want you to find everything about the family she is living with now,I want to know every single detail about them,both their flaws, everything"Leon said to Dave.

"Okay boss"Dave replied although he was curious to know why Leon was so interested in this Ivy."You can go now"Leon said to Dave who left immediately.

As soon as Dave left,he heard a knock on his door.before he could say anything,the door opened and Ivy came in.He put on a cold expression immediately he saw her.

Ivy on the other hand was waiting for him to say something to her, like shout at her for what she did to his girlfriend but he didn't say anything to her.he was just looking at her with his normal cold expression.

"I brought you coffee"she said to him but he didn't say anything to her.Ivy found the situation awkward as she didn't know what to do.she wondered why he had such a cold personality.she stood there waiting for him to say something.

"Why are you still standing there?"he finally asked.

"Where should I keep this?"she asked him."drop it on the table"Leon said to her,his gaze returning to his laptop.

Ivy strode to his side to keep the coffee on the table,as she was about to keep it on the table,her eyes went to a document there which had her picture and her name.she was surprised,her gaze lingered on the documents as she tried to know what it was.

Realizing that she took time to keep the coffee,Leon raised his head up to look at her but saw that her gaze was fixed somewhere.he traced her gaze to see that he didn't close the documents containing Ivy's background check."what are you staring at?"he asked, closing the documents immediately.

Meanwhile,the hot coffee Ivy was holding poured on his table and his shirt burning his hand.Ivy was shocked with what happened,her boss will surely kill her.

"I am so sorry"she apologized trying to wipe the coffee off with her hands but Leon swatted her hands away."I am so sorry"she apologized again but instead she received a glare from Leon.she felt like disappearing into the ground.

Leon closed his eyes for some time so as to control the anger rising inside of him before opening his eyes to look at her.staring at the most annoying woman he has ever met in his life,he couldn't help but wonder how he was attracted to her in the first place.

"Get out"he said to her but Ivy stood there like a statue staring at him.he clenched his fists.he was tired of seeing her face,maybe he should just fire her at once, at least firing her will hurt her.he thought to himself.

"I am sorry for pouring the coffee on you,it was just a mistake,it must have hurt you so much,I will get a first aid kit so I can treat the burn"she said to him pulling him away from his thoughts.

Hearing her voice which he found irritating,he decided that he wouldn't fire her,he would torture her slowly instead.he has never seen a woman so shameless like her,she has the guts to seduce and Rob him,as if that was not enough,she has the guts to say sorry to him.how can she work peacefully for him knowing what she did to him in the past.didn't she have a conscience at all?if she doesn't have one,he would make sure she has one after dealing with her.

"Sorry,I will go get the first aid kit"she said to him but she was cut off by Leon."I don't need your help,the best you can do for me is to leave my office"he said to her.

"I just want to help you"she replied."I don't need your help,get out"he said to her."I insist"she said to him leaving his office.

Leon gritted his teeth in anger before standing up from his chair,he left for his restroom.

He turned on the tap using the water to wipe his shirt.After doing so,he wiped it with a towel before going back into the office to see Ivy in his office.his gaze went to her hands to see that she was carrying a first aid kit.his eyebrows knitted together.

Before he could say anything,Ivy approached him.taking his hands."I said that I don't need your help"he said to her but Ivy glared at him this time around."just shut up and let me do my job,I am the one at fault here,am just rectifying my mistake"she said to him.Leon was speechless,he didn't know what to say to her.this was the first time an ordinary person talked to him in this way.

She rolled up his sleeve before removing his wrist watch.She opened the first aid kit and started to treat him.After she was done,she used a hand towel to wipe the coffee that poured.

"Don't wear the wrist watch or any jewelry so it can heal faster,I will get going now"she said to him before leaving his office leaving Leon speechless.

Leon clenched his fists as soon as she left,how could he not do anything to her After she talked to him like that.that woman was something else.
