Chapter Seven

Ivy was nervous as she didn't know what line of action to take next,just as his gaze landed on her,Ivy pushed the guards away and ran off immediately.

The guards were surprised with her action,Leon was not surprised because he was used to his employees running away whenever they see him but there was something different about this one,she acted like she did something wrong.maybe she realized that she wasn't supposed to use his elevator.he didn't have time for such insignificant people whereas he has so much going on in his mind.

He was about to enter the elevator when her image appeared in his head again."she looks familiar,where have I met her before?"he thought to himself.he decided to wave the thoughts off his mind because to him,he has met so many people,but then the image of the Stripper who robbed him appeared in his mind.he put everything together and he realized that she was the one who he met earlier.that explains the reason she ran away like she has seen a ghost.

He gritted his teeth in anger as he couldn't catch her before she ran away.everything happened so fast that he couldn't recognize her in time and she looked so different too.he wondered what she was doing in his company

"Get that woman for me now"he said to his men and they left immediately to do what their boss instructed them to do.

He entered the elevator and soon he was on the floor where his office was.as soon as his secretary saw him,she approached him immediately.

"Sir,this is your schedule for today"she said, handing some documents to him.Leon collected the documents without saying a word to her.

On arriving at his office,he sat down on his chair,he checked his schedule before bringing his laptop out and started typing.

Just then,there was a knock on his door.

"Come in"he said and one of his men came in.he has been expecting them and the only thing he wanted to hear was that they caught her.

The man didn't say anything yet as he was scared of what the boss might do to him.

"If I need a statue,I would buy one so stop standing there like a statue,how did it go?"Leon said to him.

"I am sorry boss but we weren't able to catch her,she escaped"He replied,his head hung low.he was preparing for the worst but to his surprise,his boss didn't act like he expected.

"Get out"was the two words Leon said for him to scamper on his feet immediately.

Leon squeezed the pen on his hand,he was trying to control himself.one thing he hated was people cheating him,no one has ever got away with that and this stripper is not going to be an exception.she played him and he was going to make her pay for fooling him.

He picked up his telephone immediately."I need you in my office right now"he said, keeping the telephone back.Soon Dave was in his office.

"I want you to get me the CCTV footage"he said to Dave who nodded before leaving.he wondered why Leon needed the CCTV footage.

After some minutes,Dave came back with the CCTV footage handing it over to Leon before leaving.Leon inserted it in his laptop,his eyes were fixed on the laptop as he watched everything that happened starting from when Ivy walked into his company.

After watching the footage,he smirked,she was here for an interview.Maybe she didn't know he was the owner of this company for her to apply for a job here.he finally has the opportunity to deal with her.

He took his telephone and called his secretary."Tell the hiring manager that I want to see her in my office right now"."Okay sir,"his secretary replied before the call ended.

When the hiring manager by name Amelia heard that their Ceo Leon wanted to see her.she was so happy.she pulled her skirt up so that it can be short,she also left the first two button of her shirt open exposing her cleavage.she checked her face in the mirror before applying more lipstick.she sprayed perfume to make her smell nice.

She entered the elevator to be taken to Leon's floor.she inhaled and exhaled before knocking on the door.

"Come in"Leon said and she walked in.

Leon didn't spare her a glance as his gaze was fixed on the laptop in front of him.

"Bring me the files of the people that applied for a job"he said to her.

"Okay sir"she replied, Making sure that her voice was sweet Enough.

Her scent wafted Leon's nose and he squeezed his face. He didn't like it when women used too much perfume.Leon lifted his head to look at her.she was happy that she finally got his attention,she smiled broadly.

"What are you still doing here?Go and do what I told you to do"Leon said to her, obviously irritated and Amelia left his office in embarrassment.

She wondered what Leon wanted to do with the files of the job applicants,he has never been interested in people that were hired before,why is he interested all of a sudden?.

After gathering the files of people that applied,she headed to Leon's office.

"These are the files you asked for"she said handing it over to him.she didn't leave unless Leon asked her to.she stood there waiting for his orders.

Leon went through the files and soon,he found the file he was looking for."Ivy Parker"he muttered as he stared at her passport and her information.

He threw the file to Amelia who caught it immediately.

"Did she get the job?"he asked Amelia who went through the file,there is no way she would forget her face so easily,the woman who had the guts to insult her during her job interview.

"She didn't get the job,she is so rude and she...before she could finish speaking,Leon interrupted her.

"Hire her,"he said to her.

"What?"Amelia was surprised.

"Are you deaf?Give her the job,you can go now,"he said to her.

Amelia was still shocked,he wondered why Leon was interested in that woman.that was the main reason she didn't give the woman the opportunity,she saw that she was a beautiful woman once she stepped foot into her office for interview.who would have known that she has managed to get the attention of their boss.she clenched her fists as she walked to her office.

If it was up to her,she wouldn't hire that woman but since their boss was now involved,she had no other option but to give her the job.She wondered how their boss knew that woman with no standards.

She took her file and kept it with the ones that passed the interview.

Meanwhile Ivy was still trying to catch her breath as she just ran a race.who would have thought that she would meet that man in this city.she wasn't comfortable with continuing with everything she had planned out today.who knows she might run into him again and that was the last thing she wanted.she decided to go home instead.

She boarded a cab and soon she was home.

IVY'S POV.

Nobody was at home,seems like Rose and her husband has left for work.I checked the time,it was 10:30 am.what would I be doing in the house all day?I really needed to find a job as soon as possible.I didn't want to be a burden to Rose.just then,my stomach grumbled.i haven't eaten since morning.

I dropped my bag and file on the couch and strode into the kitchen to find what I will eat.

After some time,I got out of the kitchen with a sandwich and cup of tea.I sat down on the couch,I put on the television and started to eat.I wondered how my life would turn out.I never thought I would cross paths with this man again.

Just then,my phone rang,I looked at the caller ID.i frowned because the number was not saved in my contacts and it wasn't familiar either.

I answered the call to hear an unfamiliar voice.

"Am I speaking with Ivy Parker?"came the voice.

"Yes,how can I help you?"I asked.

"After going through your information,you have been given the job as a secretary to our boss in super Pacific company"

I didn't want to believe what I just heard,I calmed myself down."What did you just say?"

"You have been given the job as a secretary to our boss in super Pacific company,he is in dire need of a secretary and we think you are good for the job,you can start tomorrow to know the necessary things,thank you"the unfamiliar voice said to me before the call ended.

"Yes, thank you Lord"

I didn't know I would get a job because of how I was treated by the hiring manager who interviewed me.I didn't know how to feel right now,I wondered what happened,why did she change her mind?maybe she realized her mistake.I was so happy,I never knew it would be this easy to get a job in a big company like that.God was really on my side.I couldn't wait for Rose to come back so I can tell her the good news.
