It was the most surprising thing to happen to her in her 22 years of life. Abigail had never thought that Christopher Sherman, a young, multibillionaire businessman, would approach her and express his desire to marry her. She was ecstatic and accepted his proposal. But little did she know that the 32-year-old handsome guy had a secret reason for wanting to marry her. Abigail stepped into his world with a lot of hope in her heart. But marrying him was not the happy ending. It was just the beginning. Will she be able to keep her heart from breaking? What will happen if she discovers his true motive? ============= "Life was easy before I married you," said Abigail with pain in her eyes. “I was dying, but I was happy.” “What do you mean?” Christopher clasped her arm. “Stop talking nonsense and eat the medicine,” he hissed, placing a tablet in her palm. Under his fiery gaze, Abigail cowered. "Do you find it difficult to meet my demand for a baby? It has been two years, Christopher." He didn’t answer her question. All he did was stare at her, acting mute. “Why do I feel like you don’t care about my feelings?” Abigail asked. “Don’t you love me?” His silence was the clear answer. ============= A special thanks to Aurora, my editor, for her helpful suggestions on how to improve the synopsis. His unexpected assault stunned Vivian, who had never imagined he would do something like this, even in her dreams. He was kissing and biting her, kneading her breasts roughly.
Vivian stood transfixed, shock and pain coursing through her. She seemed to have become puzzled and lost her strength to retaliate. Her inner self, however, felt offended, even though she loved this man. This was violence, and she couldn't let herself succumb to it.
She pushed him away hard, her eyes burning with pain.
Eddie's madness vanished as he met her tear-filled eyes. He regretted forcing her. He wanted to apologize to her, but his voice didn't come out.
"Do you want to rape me?" she asked, her voice trembling.
Eddie staggered, his heart sinking. He was so ashamed of himself that he couldn't face her. He turned around and stormed away.
Vivian hugged herself and watched him drive away.
