A poor girl born with congenital heart disease has not had much hope for the future, but her life takes a sharp turn when a wealthy, handsome man proposes marriage to her following her heart transplant. It was the most surprising thing to happen to her in her 22 years of life. Abigail had never thought that Christopher Sherman, a young, multibillionaire businessman, would approach her and express his desire to marry her. She was ecstatic and accepted his proposal. But little did she know that the 32-year-old handsome guy had a secret reason for wanting to marry her. Abigail stepped into his world with a lot of hope in her heart. But marrying him was not the happy ending. It was just the beginning. Will she be able to keep her heart from breaking? What will happen if she discovers his true motive? ============= "Life was easy before I married you," said Abigail with pain in her eyes. “I was dying, but I was happy.” “What do you mean?” Christopher clasped her arm. “Stop talking nonsense and eat the medicine,” he hissed, placing a tablet in her palm. Under his fiery gaze, Abigail cowered. "Do you find it difficult to meet my demand for a baby? It has been two years, Christopher." He didn’t answer her question. All he did was stare at her, acting mute. “Why do I feel like you don’t care about my feelings?” Abigail asked. “Don’t you love me?” His silence was the clear answer. ============= A special thanks to Aurora, my editor, for her helpful suggestions on how to improve the synopsis. Rachel was kicked out of the Hotel Sierra and later banned from working at any of the properties owned by the Sherman family. She was crying because she was worried about Abigail, not because she had been fired.
Adrian and Gloria had never liked Abigail and had yet to accept her as a Sherman family member. Rachel was well aware of the situation.
However, she had not worried much as she had noticed Christopher being gentle towards Abigail. She had faith that he would not let anything bad happen to her.
Her belief began to sway when she saw the hatred in Adrian's eyes.
It alarmed Rachel.
She was worried Adrian would cause Abigail problems. She wiped her tears away and called her instantly.
"Hello…"
Rachel wanted to blurt out everything that happened inside room number 8081B, but she swallowed the words that were on the tip of her tongue when she heard her dejected and tired voice. She was worried that Abigail was not well.
