A poor girl born with congenital heart disease has not had much hope for the future, but her life takes a sharp turn when a wealthy, handsome man proposes marriage to her following her heart transplant. It was the most surprising thing to happen to her in her 22 years of life. Abigail had never thought that Christopher Sherman, a young, multibillionaire businessman, would approach her and express his desire to marry her. She was ecstatic and accepted his proposal. But little did she know that the 32-year-old handsome guy had a secret reason for wanting to marry her. Abigail stepped into his world with a lot of hope in her heart. But marrying him was not the happy ending. It was just the beginning. Will she be able to keep her heart from breaking? What will happen if she discovers his true motive? ============= "Life was easy before I married you," said Abigail with pain in her eyes. “I was dying, but I was happy.” “What do you mean?” Christopher clasped her arm. “Stop talking nonsense and eat the medicine,” he hissed, placing a tablet in her palm. Under his fiery gaze, Abigail cowered. "Do you find it difficult to meet my demand for a baby? It has been two years, Christopher." He didn’t answer her question. All he did was stare at her, acting mute. “Why do I feel like you don’t care about my feelings?” Abigail asked. “Don’t you love me?” His silence was the clear answer. ============= A special thanks to Aurora, my editor, for her helpful suggestions on how to improve the synopsis. Abigail avoided eye contact with him and went to bed while he was eating. She had not yet been able to calm her racing heart. Her entire body tingled as she remembered the incident from a while ago.
She smiled shyly and hid under the blanket. She was excited and eager to see him, but she was also nervous about facing him.
She no longer had any doubts about him and believed the woman she had seen with him was only his friend. She also started to think that he was starting to like her. At last, he would fall in love with her.
Under the blanket, Abigail bit her bottom lip. Joy, excitement, and anticipation mixed in her heart. Her brain was hyperactive.
She was too excited to get any sleep. She was curious about what he would do with her when he went to bed. Would he resume where he had left off?
"Uh? Why is my heart beating so hard?" She wondered, placing her hand on her breastbone.
