Ella’s suspicion
Jasper emerged from the study during lunchtime. The food was served, and he sat down to eat. He wanted to tell Ella that he had sent her designs to a designer, but he paused when he noticed her distant and preoccupied. Her usual enthusiasm was missing, and she appeared troubled instead.
Jasper's expression changed from excitement to concern. He wondered what had transpired during these hours that distressed her.
On the other hand, Ella was torn between asking him about Paul and keeping her concerns to herself. At the same time, she was afraid that her query would upset him and make him feel offended. She didn't want to irritate him, but her thoughts were racing with uncertainties and questions.
