Knowing the World

After parking his luxurious sports car in the parking lot of the cafe, Jake made his way into the cafe to the table where his friend was sitting, enjoying his coffee.

Two extremely handsome youngsters in a cafe on the corner table were becoming a center of attraction. Many women wanted to go ask for contact details of the two individuals, but no one had the guts to do that.

Even though Jake was emitting an extremely pleasant and friendly aura, his friend Mark had darkness covered all over him which screamed, 'Stay Away from Me'.

Jake sat down and ordered a black coffee for himself along with croquettes to appease his hunger for the time being. "You know you could have just contacted your family's chauffeur for a ride. Its not like anyone will refuse you for anything", said Jake.

Mark kept the cup in hand on the table and gave a dangerous smirk to his friend while saying, "You are 3 minutes late, but I forgive you. And you see Jake, before going home I've some errands to run and some people to put in to their places where they belong to."

As soon as Mark said this, a sudden chill ran through Jake's spine making him shiver, even though he knew that he was not the target. He thought to himself, 'Great! Now, who've offended our Prince as soon as he made his return back to the country. They certainly don't prefer living in this world'.

Jake quickly composed himself and asked, "Anyways, 4 years ago you left the country with a single message that said not to look for you and you've something important to do. What exactly happened? Are going to spill the beans now? You went completely off the grid and no one could find you."

Mark looked at his friend and nonchalantly said, "You know how my old grumpy grandpa is. I was sitting in my study in the house going through some important documents, and old man comes in and orders me:

'Mark, you have made a name for yourself in the business world as The Predator, but you still haven't seen the world clearly how beautiful it is as well as how ruthless it can be. So tomorrow you are going out of the country to know the world as it is essential to meet people from all walks of life if you want to take responsibility for a family such as ours'.

And here I am, after 4 years of roaming around the world and learning different skills finally back to where I feel home."

Jake gave him a questioning gaze as he was contemplating if he should ask Mark for his whereabouts for past 4 years but decided against it and instead asked, "How can you have all the fun by yourself? You should've taken me with you, I got so bored as it was no fun running around with those spoiled rich kids, chasing pretty ladies all day around", complained Jake with a pout.

Mark sighed and said, "Aren't you describing yourself and your activities by saying that? And stop pouting like a kid, you are a grownup now. Start behaving like one. Why is it that only time I see you acting like an adult is when you are picking up a girl? And its not like I was playing around and partying all day, I was making important connections and gathering information that can be used in the future. Anyways, finish up that coffee and lets make a move. I want to swing by willy's club on the way to my apartment."

Jake's eyes lit up when he heard the name Willy's Club, forgetting all the criticism he was getting from his friend. "It seems someone is going to be in a serious trouble if you're planning to take a detour to her club," said Jake with excitement.

"Also, do you found any girlfriend for yourself while you were away? Give me some update come on, I am your brother. Why hide anything from me?" Jake said with mischievous eyes.

At the mention of a girlfriend, Mark couldn't help but remember a beauty he encountered in a masquerade business banquet in City L of Country E, an year ago. Remembering the fresh strawberry like womanly sent while he was dancing with the lady and her mesmerizing eyes that were seen through her mask, suddenly sent him in a daze, and unknowingly his heartbeat sped up.

At the same time, Jake had a smug look on his face by seeing his friend lost, most probably for a woman. His friend who after graduating from highschool, stayed like an impotent person always glaring at women whenever they approach, was losing his composure for a girl. Jake couldn't believe it. If they were somewhere private, he would've squealed like a girl in excitement for his friend.

"So my handsome friend, spill it. Who's the girl? Where and how did you two meet? Are you in a relationship already? When are you taking me to meet sister-in-law? Had she deflowered you already? What happened between you two?" Jake started firing non stop questions snapping Mark out of his reverie.

Mark cleared his throat out of embarrassment, but didn't show it on his face by keeping a perfect poker face and said, "Nothing happened between anyone. And what's with that deflowering thing? Do I look like a young maiden to you? Enough now, I'm leaving you here if you keep chattering like a teenage girl".

Jake was quite happy with the development, and even though Mark ignored his interrogation, he(Jake) didn't push him for answers as he knew that when time comes, his friend will open up to him.

Both finished up eating and after paying, they made their way out of the cafe towards Jake's Lamborghini. Mark took the keys from Jake's pockets and handed his leather bag to Jake to keep it at the back seat of the car.

After settling in the car, Mark put on his glasses and started driving the car by revving up the engine aggressively making Jake scowl. 'Nobody makes his baby scream like that', but kept his mouth shut as they joined the traffic and made their way to the next destination.
