CHAPTER FIFTY

　　"I’ll be back for you,"

　　That was the text that shook Annie up on a bright sunny morning. Lying next to a sleepy Damien with his arms wrapped around her, she quietly pulled away from him as she tiptoed out of his bedroom holding her belongings.

　　She bumped into Mrs. Harper as she hurried out of the house.

　　“Hi, Miss Gilbert, are you leaving already? I can quickly prepare breakfast for you before you leave,” Mrs. Harper asked. She wore a grin on her face like she knew what had happened between Annie and Damien.

　　“I - I - I have to run along now, something important just came up. Please can you inform him when he wakes up,”

　　“Sure, I will. Be safe out there and drive carefully,” she said.

　　“I will, thank you very much, Mrs. Harper," Annie said, rushing off to the driveway. She climbed into the car and zoomed out.
