Kate's POV

While I was cooking, my door bell suddenly rang. I knew it was Anna. So, I hurriedly opened my apartment door. And, as I expected, Anna was outside my door already. To my great joy I suddenly jumped up and immediately hugged her tightly.

"I know you missed me so much, Kate but I hope you won't kill me right away," Anna joked.

"Oh, sorry, I am just happy to see my best friend again."

"I know and I miss you so much as well. But, can we go inside your apartment first? Because we've been standing here right now,"Anna smiled.

"Oh,yes! I'm sorry, I didn't notice; sure, let's go inside my apartment. You have to be use to it because it's small; I'm the only one living here and also to save on rent as well. "

"Um… are you still saving for that?" Anna asked.

I was suddenly startled by Anna's question. "You still haven't forgotten that, huh?"

"I'm your best friend, Kate. It doesn't mean that because I move out from this country, I already forgot things about you. Of course, I still know every single detail of your life even in your past," Kate said while standing in front of me and staring into my eyes.

I averted my eyes from her stare because I didn't want to talk about that with her right now. "You know what, I know you're hungry already and that's good because I cooked your favorite food. So, sit there first and I will prepare our food, " I said and I hurried went to the kitchen and I didn't wait for Anna to speak.

When I got to the kitchen I took a deep breath and held it to my chest. I didn't expect that question. Not that I don't want to talk about that with Anna, maybe… because I'm not ready to talk about it again. I fix myself and I put the food on the table.

Right now, we are sitting at a small table in the living room. The two of us were just eating quietly when suddenly Anna spoke.

"Hey, Kate, the thing that I asked earlier, I'm really sorry about that, I didn't mean to ask you that. I thought it's okay to–

"It's okay, forget it. Let's just talk about another topic, " I said.

"Yes, of course. Um, is Clyde coming here today? "

"Oh, I don't know if he's going to come here today. But he often visits here in my apartment. "

"I see, don't you want to move into his house? I mean didn't he offer you to move?"

"Actually, he really wants me to move into his house the case… I am not ready yet… it's complicated. I am his secretary. I don't want our relationship be a problem to his company. So, I decided to stay here in my apartment first while we are not yet married. "

"Don't those employees of him know that you're in a relationship with him?"

I smiled at her and we ate again. A few minutes passed and we finished what we were eating. As I was washing the plate I suddenly felt two hands clasped behind my back. I suddenly stopped for washing the dishes.

"Kate, I miss you. I am sorry for everything. Sorry, that I left you. Since elementary, we've been friends. We are together in all things and in all nonsense. Even we are the same age; I always acted like your elder sister. I want to be brave, so that I can protect you. I really don't want to see you cry. I still remember, when your mom died, you almost killed yourself. You don't talk, you don't eat either. And the only thing you say that time was blaming yourself… that you were the reason why your mom died. But you know that, you are not the reason why she died. That was an accident but what did you do… you avoid people who still care about you… you avoid me. You've been different after that accident. It doesn't seem like you're the Kate that I used to know but I didn't give up on understanding you… you know that…until after graduation from the university… you've pushed me away… to the point that I felt… you didn't need me anymore and that's why I pursue my dream to work in Canada. But even though I already had a life in Canada, you still never left my mind. I've always thought about you Kate until I found out you were getting married. So, I decided to take a vacation here. To spend time with you until you get married. I just want the person you will marry to truly love you because you deserve it, Kate, " Anna explained at length.

I couldn't believe what Anna said, I was almost cried of what she told me. I took a deep breath and took her hand and faced her. "I am sorry, that I've pushed you away, Anna. That was one of the hardest decisions that I made in my life. But you… that was your dream, to be able to work in Canada, to have a life there. You always wanted that since we were kids but you suddenly stopped dreaming of it because of me…because of what happened in my life. So, that's the reason why I've pushed you away, for your own good. And, look at you right now? You are already successful which I already know since then because you're such a strong person, Anna, " I smiled at her.

"I don't know that's your reason why you did that but hey,Kate, thank you very much. You're such a really good best friend ever since I met you. "

"You too, Anna," I said and hugged her tightly.
