Richmond looked around the area, the entire field was filled with were-people from all walks of life. Large tents were set up all over the place, each one marked with the distinct insignia of the various packs represented at this grand assembly. The air was thick with the scent of wolves and the sounds of boisterous conversations, occasional growls, and the underlying tension that accompanied any gathering of powerful beings.
The alphas of different packs were moved to a separate tent, a grander structure near the center of the field, where only the leaders and their closest advisors could convene. Today was the annual Wolf Federation Day, a day set aside for alphas and their heirs to come together and mingle with each other, forge alliances, settle disputes, and display their power and unity. It was a time of tradition and expectation, a day when the future leaders of the packs were groomed and shown off like prized stallions.
