As I gazed into Nova's defiant eyes, memories of James flooded my mind. Her betrayal stung, but I knew desperation drove her actions. James, my dear friend and Nova's brother, had been kidnapped by Mr. Blackwood's men years ago. I vowed to find him, but every lead ended in disappointment.
