*3 weeks later*
I woke up chained to a medical gurney in what was basically a cell with minimal medical supplies and padded walls. I look around to see a camera in the upper corner of the room. I feel for my wolf, Akela was silent but I could feel her presence. She wasn't talking to me, as usual, I shake my head knowing she isn't in the mood to help so I will have to help myself.
"Hello?" I call out, hoping someone would see or hear me.
There's a bag of IV Fluids connected to my arm, I gently take start peeling at the tape to take the needle out of my arm when I hear the door clank open.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you" a woman says as she walked in the door, closing it behind her.
I hear the door bolt shut from the other side, I gave her a confused look as I look around the room.
"There's nothing in here that isn't strapped down that you can hurt Me with, now let's get this over with." she sits down in a chair she brought in with her.
"where are my parents?" I ask, hoping I had some type of fever dream.
"Pardon?"
"My parents! Josiah Nightshade and Cassie Dark Claw!" I screamed out.
"Ahh, yes, gone to meet the moon goddess, if you believe in that type of thing."
I fell back on the gurney, unable to stand or breath. My parents… they… they're dead.. I figured.. that my father… but… my mother…
"Anyway, I have a tight schedule and several other packs to get to. I'm council woman Kathryn Gobel, I'm here to give you your discharge paperwork."
"discharge from what? This hospital?"
"we don't like to use the word 'exile' but that's what most commoners refer to it" she states, acting like the use of a different word helps at all. End of the day I'm being forced to go rogue..
"I'm being exiled? I'm a minor.."
"yes, but according to this you have several cases pending against you for aggression towards pack members and… yes here is the main one attempted murder of an Alpha."
"What are you talking about? I never touched Alpha Duncan, I avoided him as much as possible."
"Not the late Alpha Duncan, his son. Alpha Eric. You're lucky he's only asking for your exile and not your head Missy."
"we had an incident the day my father died, he wasn't the alpha at that point.."
"there is a law, it states anyone challenging the alpha within 24 hours before or after their reign gets charged as if that alpha was in command. It protects the Alpha's from crime before their ceremony and after their reign, charging any who have ill intent towards the rightful Alpha."
"this makes no sense…"
"ok, simple terms it is, you attacked alpha Eric within 24 hours of him becoming alpha. That's a no-no, you get charged as if you attack Alpha Duncan."
Did this lady seriously just attempt to use baby talk on me?
"How was I supposed to know when he Alpha Duncan was supposed to die? It's not like I planned to kill him myself. Why am I getting charged with anything?"
"Look kid, one way or another Alpha Duncan had enough evidence against you to have you exiled by 15. You attacking Alpha Eric is just the cherry on top."
She throws a binder on the floor in front of me, I pick it up and sort through it. It's just a bunch of bank transactions and numbers I couldn't make any sense of.
"What is this?.."
"Bank logs, owned property, Inheritance, how much money, how much debt. They sold your parents house back to the pack, wasn't worth much but it fetched a pretty penny." She shrugged
"what about all my belongings?" I ask worried.
"everything you need to know is in that folder. Most Belongings in the house were put in storage off pack territory, whatever was salvageable that is."
"salvageable?.." I ask confused, it wasn't their decision to decide what I did or didn't want to keep.
"well, there was a storm in there by the time the council arrived. Honestly lucky upstairs wasn't touched." She said indifferent
"but.."
"You have 72 hours to get off pack lands, Alpha Eric was kind enough to allow you to have that long. I suggest you get walking, it's a 2 day hike off the territory as is."
She throws me a duffle bag full of clothes my size and miscellaneous toiletries along with a passport and bank card.
"Don't try to go back to the house, it's been completely renovated and resold. Nothing of you or your family is there. The key to the cuffs is on the side pocket, unlock yourself then they will advise you when to leave."
I search through the bag, finding the key to the cuff ready to unlock it.
"I would allow your Fluids to run out first, get as much hydration as possible before hand." She says as she closes the door.
My parents are dead.. I have nowhere to go.. I have 72 hours to figure out what I'm going to do. I have no clue what day or time it is, let alone where I'm going or even where I am. I let out a ragged breath, crying will do no good. Not until I'm somewhere safe, then I can break down, but right now I need to be safe.
I wait for the IV to empty and slowly peel the tape back holding the drip line into my skin. After getting my arm free I start rubbing it, sore from being in an awkward angle. I take one last Glance around, the anxiety setting in before looking at the key. I grab the key to unlock the cuffs, the second they unlock a loud siren starts going off alerting them I'm "free".
