Chapter 13:00 Pronoia

The Crystal Castle melted away and the water sank through the ground burying the old castle below it forever. The water rushed down the mountain, washing out the mercury and breaking away the chasm of bones, sending water to the town.

Ada was sad when she heard about Enoch. She used the timepiece to fix the clocktower though. After a few hits with her wrench it cranked up and whirred and time started moving again thanks to that tiny little cog.

Ada thanked Theo by giving him a kiss on the cheek.

"We're here to help!" he said with a goofy smile. He was sad about losing his lucky watch but glad he was able to give Lady her luck back.

In town, the bonfire was put out for the first time anyone could remember. All the forgotten children reunited with their families. There was a different air about the town. It was as if Dora had collected all of her ills and let out hope. Even the umbrella guy looked up at the sky.

In the graveyard near town is a small plot with a big headstone for a little bee. "To all those who doubted," Oliver asked Theo to write on it. He may not have had wings but he was brave.

The entire town celebrated with a parade when they returned. The muffin man made fruit pies and soufflés. They even dedicated a new sundial where the bonfire was in Maise's honor.

"We can stay a little longer," Theo says.

"It's time to go home," Maise replies.

She wanted Mr. Bear to come with them but he had to stay to help Ada with the clocktower. He told her he would miss her so much.

"What a strange journey it's been," thought Theo as he pulls the piece of mirror from his pocket.

They look into the mirror as the sun starts to rise.
