Chapter 10
The following morning the sky above the cabin looked clear and the air was crisp and fresh. A smell of a concoction reached the nostrils of the travelers, awakening them after a long night in which they had been able to regain strength.
"It smells like tea." Said Aylen.
Laszlo heard her words and from the hearth where he was working said.
“It is an infusion of natural herbs of which I do not know the name, but I have been drinking them for many years. It is safe and will warm your body. I have also prepared these cakes that we can eat as bread. They are cassava.”
"Do you have cassava plantations?" Asked Jean Luc.
“I didn't plant them. There are various abandoned crops and fruit trees in this area. I think they have been planted by old settlers who left no other traces.”
"Have you explored the forest well?" Asked Xiang.
“I had many years to do it.”
“Did you never find anyone?”
