Talk To Your Sister Properly!

Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation

Su Xia sat down on the carpet and placed a pillow behind her back. She then leaned against the sofa while looking at her phone screen. It felt as if all of her fatigue had dissipated right then. A small smile played on her lips as her voice softened. "Have you guys eaten?" she asked.

"We have already had our meal," her father replied. "We did not want to interrupt you while you were working, so we waited till now to ask if you were free to have a video call," he added.

He moved closer and examined the screen carefully. "You have gotten thinner," he said wistfully.

Su Xia touched her own face instinctively. "Oh really? Dad, I will look good on-screen if I have gotten thinner," she said.

"You will not look good if you get too thin," her father retorted. Soon after, her mother chimed in as well. "Qianqian, are you not too thin? Is this one of the company's requirements? Even so, you cannot be that thin. Do you normally not eat much?" she asked.

"You cannot eat too little, alright? It is not good for your health. You are always busy with work. Acting is extremely energy consuming. If you do not eat much on top of that, how can you be strong enough?" she added.

"When are you coming home? Mum will cook some good food for you when you are home to replenish your diet," her mother said.

The urge to cry overcame Su Xia while she listened to her mother's nagging. She felt rather melancholic as she was all alone, especially on a night like this where families were supposed to be together and reunited.

She should have been used to this since a long time ago. However, looking at her parents' faces made her miss them all the same.

"Initially, I was supposed to come home during this holiday. However, something came up in work and I did not have a choice," Su Xia said. "Nothing will stop me from coming home the next time," she continued.

Noticing the sorrowful tone of her voice, her mother comforted her. "It is alright. After a while, Dad and I will come visit you," she told her.

Su Xia nodded weakly. "Where is my brother? Why do I not see him?" she asked.

"Su Jiayu!" her father yelled. "Come here at once! Your sister has already called, but you are still busy playing computer games over there!"

"...Oh, I am coming."

Her younger brother's usual monotonous, unfeeling voice could be heard through the phone.

"Why are you looking for me?" he asked.

Her father struck him on the head angrily.

"Stop playing your game. Talk to your sister properly!" he ordered.

"..." Su Xia felt much more at ease. She grinned and raised her eyes. "You are still busy playing computer games. The National College Entrance Examination is really important. Go study soon," she said.

"Are you human? It is my holidays, are you not going to let me breathe?" Su Jiayu questioned her.

Without a doubt, her mother hit him once again. "Talk properly, will you!"

Su Jiayu was upset.

"Yuyu," Su Xia called out with a wide grin on her face. "Do you want a red packet?" she asked.

Upon hearing her words, Su Jiayu, who had not been in the mood to talk to her, instantly lit up. He inched closer to the phone, his face filling up her entire screen.

"Big Sis, my beloved Big Sis," he cackled. "Happy Mid-autumn Festival!"

"Red packet? Do not give him anything. Otherwise, he'll spend all of it on some nonsense," her mother grumbled.

"..." Su Xia lifted her hands innocently. "My apologies, Yuyu. I intended to give you a red packet, but Mum does not allow me to do so. Sigh, there is nothing else I can do about it," she told him.

Su Jiayu widened his eyes in disbelief. His mouth twitched. He looked like he wanted to say something but was wary of the two adults beside him. In a fit of rage, he switched on his phone and disappeared from view once again.

"Do not call me over the next time she calls!" he yelled.

Su Xia giggled out loud.

After chatting for a while, her mother hung up as she did not want to disrupt her rest time.

Eventually, Su Xia sent a red packet over to Su Jiayu.

He clicked in instantly and accepted it.

Not long after, she posted a selfie for her fans. She ended up trending online again as it had been quite some time since she last posted one.
