POV Kathyln Glayder

Several months have passed since I started training with Master Varay, my growth has been quite good, even compared to other people since their awakening.

My father usually tries by all means to show off my talent, but I have always refused, after all my interest is completely in growing as fast as possible and reaching him.

Lately, we have shared some letters where he told me that he is in the kingdom of Elenoir spending some time with his master and helping some friends to train.

That saddened me a little, however, I let it go after all it is his homeland and very likely the elves do not like humans, right?

Don't think negative, think positive, Kathyln we can spend time when I see him again in the capital of Xyrus.

With that idea in mind, I asked to be aware of Julian's entry to Xyrus at all times.

And after a month, finally, they notified me of his return, he was at the Xyrus academy.

So I quickly spoke to Varay to skip training for today.

"Miss Varay please" I said clasping my hands in a sign of supplication.

She as always had an expressionless look, which showed no kind of thought on her face, sometimes it disturbed me a little that we looked alike in this aspect, but I decided to leave the idea aside.

She narrowed her eyes and answered in a dry tone "why do you want to cancel today's training?"

Her tone chilled my blood, but I did not give up "I want to meet someone" I replied in a timid tone.

Varay raised one of her eyebrows slightly and said "Did the boy we saw at the academy come back?"

Surprised that it was so easy to read when it came to Julian, I nodded.

She simply gave me a nod and said "tomorrow you can't cancel the training or your father might get angry because you rejected his requests for social meetings to be with me".

Quickly, I nodded saying "thank you very much, master" then I tried to turn around to leave, but her voice caught my attention again.

"Be careful this time Mr. Wykes and I will be busy so we can't watch over you, also tell the boy that I want to know how much he has grown" she said as she turned her back and left in the opposite direction to where I was.

After processing her words for a second, I quickly went for a cloak to cover myself and leave the castle.

I eluded all the guards successfully or so I thought until I found out the truth in the future

POV Priscilla Glayder

I have been worried about my daughter for a whole year, she has not stopped training at this rate, she will be able to hit almost any man who approaches her in the academy.

At first, more than a year and a half ago, when she woke up being so young, I was very happy, but then only the word training was in her head.

So I tried to find friends for her, but they were all rejected and the only person who could be moderately close to that was impossible to find.

That boy Julian is using a different name in the guild and I can't locate him, besides Cynthia Goodsky firmly refused to give me a way to contact him.

The only positive thing was that he sent letters with my daughter, that was what allowed me to continue with the situation.

But lately I felt that I had to do something to prevent my daughter from becoming a lonely girl.

That's why today I hoped to go out with her and cancel her training, but by chance I heard her.

She was going to sneak out with someone, that formed a smile on my face when I saw my daughter run so desperate to meet that person.

But who will it be, because I only heard half of the conversation, I don't know who the person is and why he would be so frantic to see him.

For that reason I hid from her and notified the guards through the maids that they did not stop her if they saw her.

So with a cloak on and some guards I went out behind her to find out who she was going to meet.

I tried to push away the person who was on me, but I stopped as soon as I recognized the person who gave me the hug.

It was Kathyln she had matured a lot during the time I did not see her, she has grown a lot and seems somewhat more expressive than before, which is something positive in my opinion.

"What are you doing here without a guard?" I said as I hugged her back.

"Aren't you happy to see me?" she replied as her brow furrowed under the hood of her cloak and her voice sounded dissatisfied.

"Why wouldn't I be happy to see you?" I said giving her a smile as I stroked the soft hair that extended out of her cloak.

"It doesn't look like it," she said pouting.

Is it me or does she seem more active than before, is it the effect of my intervention? Well, it's not like it matters too much.

"I'm very happy to see you again, you've grown a lot during the time we didn't see each other" I replied.

"That's because you never have time to visit me," she said in an accusatory tone.

"I've been a bit busy I'm sorry I didn't come to see you sooner, but more importantly what are you doing here I didn't expect to see you at Gideon's workshop" I replied trying to find out if this encounter was really a coincidence.

"I esp..., I went by the academy to greet Director Cynthia and she told me you had returned, yes that's exactly what happened" she replied.

Why does it seem like she's trying to convince herself, there's something very strange about all this.

As I reasoned if there was something behind this casual encounter, she pulled my arm and brought us closer.

"Hey, we haven't seen each other for a long time, let's spend some time together," she said with a cheerful smile.

That smile took me out of my thoughts, and I decided to follow her "Sure let's go, I'll invite you princess" I said sarcastically.

She rolled her eyes as she let out her smile and then took me with her through the streets of Xyrus.

"What have you been doing for the last two years" I started asking as we walked through the busy streets.

"Magic training, nobility studies and meetings with other nobles. The latter has become boring," she said in a monotone.

"Do you ever go out to relax?" I asked with a raised eyebrow, as it was worrying that she was pushing herself so hard.

"I enjoy the magic training a lot, it's something that brings me closer to fulfilling my goal" she said proudly.

"Oh, wow, can this ordinary plebeian know the noble aspirations of the princess" I said bowing in a mocking gesture.

"Don't do that" she said as she pulled my ear.

"Ouch, I'm sorry, don't pull so hard" I said touching my sore ear.

"Answering your question, my aspirations are a secret" she said in a noble tone.

It's very curious to see how she has changed since I met her, "then do you have fun in your noble studies and in the meetings with the other nobles" I asked.

"More or less, the part that bothers me the most are the meetings with other nobles, the studies, on the other hand, are good and I don't see the problem" Kathyln replied.

"Since I met you, you have been very good at reading people, is it something that comes from royalty?" I asked with curiosity.

"It's something you learn if you don't want them to take advantage of you" she said in a complicated tone.

"Well, it's not that it's something bad, but it's not something you should do at our age"

"Thank you for caring about me, but aren't you the same? Since I met you, you always look closely at others. You try not to show it, but spending six months with you I learned a lot of things" she said with a nostalgic smile.

Does she watch me so much? Well, I guess the habits are too ingrained in me.

"Where do you want to go first? If you don't like the other nobles, that means you don't go out much. That's why I'll take you anywhere within Xyrus" Varay or Bairon will kill me if I take her out of the floating city.

Now that I think about it, I haven't felt the mana signature of either of them, although I don't know Bairon's by experience with Alea, Aya and Varay I should be able to recognize it easily, but there's nothing like it.

Then, whose is the gaze that has been watching us, I turned to the direction where the gaze came from, but it quickly hid, so I could only see part of his clothes.

He wore a cloak similar to Kathyln's only brown, who the hell is not following us? Are they guards that are seen around?

Couldn't they be Blaine or Priscilla, right? My forehead began to sweat profusely from the nervousness that it was the royal family of Sapin spying on what their daughter was doing.

Don't calm down, you're just spending the afternoon with Kathyln, they won't be so mean, right?

It shouldn't bother them too much that it's a plebeian who spends time with their daughter, right? Why the hell am I rationalizing, "aaaahhh" I sighed and took Kathyln's hand.

"Let's go to a restaurant that Director Cynthia recommended to me" I said as I took off her cloak and used illusion magic to hide us.

Where are they? A few seconds ago I was watching them, but now they're gone.

I turned to look at the guards who accompanied me, but they all had surprised faces as they searched from side to side for traces of my daughter.

I didn't want to miss my daughter's first date in a long time, besides it was with the disciple of the former elf king.

He is a very good option as a future son-in-law, considering the peace between both races and especially with the times that are coming, she needs someone strong by her side.

And now I lost them, what kind of boy can hide his presence like that and disappear in our noses.

"Your majesty, do we start a state of emergency to find the princess?" asked the leader of the squad of four people who escorted me.

"No, she is not in danger, she is with one of her friends after all" I replied.

"But I don't remember seeing him among the noble sons who usually deal with the miss" another guard replied.

"He is a plebeian, a very special one, do not disrespect him in front of me and if you find him in person treat him with the utmost courtesy" I spoke in a severe tone.

"Understood" the squad replied at the same time.

After that we began to search very carefully around for signs of the two.

Julian took my hand as he removed the cloak I was wearing and used some magic to make us go unnoticed, then we started running.

Just like when we first met, I remembered all the times we went out together, all the times we played, when he helped me train my meditation.

Each of the moments we spent together are precious to me, I would never regret having met you Julian.

He looked at me somewhat confused and asked, "Why are you smiling?"

A smile naturally sprang from my face and said, "I'm very happy right now."

He looked at me surprised for a few seconds and then smiled, I'm also very happy to see you again.

During the afternoon, after having lunch at a very delicious restaurant, we walked around the city watching people work and buying souvenirs.

There were some pompous and arrogant nobles, who caused me a feeling of disgust, but I ignored them for the sake of not spoiling my time with Julian.

Since I met him, I feel more and more clearly, the difference between the other nobles and me.

I don't understand their absurd behaviors, they think that their social position gives them the right to trample on those who are not equal to them, that disgusts me.

It also makes me wonder if I was like that at some point in my childhood and that's why my mother insisted so much on treating everyone equally.

Maybe the person who really helped me to be who I am now was my mother and I am very grateful to her for that.

Maybe without being who I am now, I would have despised Julian without even knowing the splendid person he is.

Getting out of my thoughts, I heard his voice "Are you sure this is okay?" He asked looking worriedly at the castle that was several blocks away.

"Don't worry, these streets are very safe, and it will be a short five-minute walk" I replied trying to reduce his concern.

"Ahhh, if you say so, it's fine" he replied.

I know that despite his answer, he will follow me, as I return to the castle. He worries too much, I thought as I said goodbye to him.

"Thank you for the dress, Julian, it's very cute, I like it a lot" I said spinning around to show the gift he had given me today.

"Certainly, you look beautiful in it; your white skin and hair go very well with that dress" he said somewhat embarrassed.

Something inside me screamed at me to tease him, so I brought my face closer to his.

He seemed surprised for a second, but he quickly recovered and looked at me curiously.

How strange I expected him to blush at least a little, he seeing my hesitation brought one of his fingers to my forehead and hit me with it.

"Ouch", I said touching the place that hurt on my forehead.

"You need more audacity princess" he said as he gave me a cheeky smile.

After making an annoyed face for his action, I remembered the bold act I was about to do, my face blushed enormously.

So, I quickly turned my feet and ran in the direction of the castle and that's how my time with Julian ended that day.
