Chapter 2. The day of the trip has arrived.

Aphrodite

This month may have been the most adventurous of my life.

And the reasons are many, such as, the day Hagrid told us he was taking us "shopping" at Diagon Alley, the new classes and the new rhythm of our lives.

That day we also passed by the Gringotts bank where it was located on the south side of Diagon Alley.

Hagrid excused us from going inside and while we waited for him outside we hung out with the black dog we had seen at the inn. He had probably gotten friendly with Arko, Irene's puppy.

After a few minutes he came out holding in his hands two green velvet pouches reasonably filled with money.

That day our trunks were filled with cloaks, thick clothes for the cold winter days, and school books for this Year. For the end we left the sticks, but since Irene for some unknown reason had been deemed unfit to have one I had only taken one. Before leaving for the inn we visited the magical menagerie and added Owls to our company. We had both acquired a feathered philosopher who, according to what others had told us, were used to send letters and parcels.

Then every morning at about 9:00 a lady would come in and say that her specialty was oncology. At first we didn't realize she was referring to people as they called them muggles.

Her name was, Charity Vargetz and from the first day, she told us that the courses we had to make up were seven.

I did well in six of them, the biggest problem I had was in potions, unlike Irene who excelled in that area.

But apart from the lessons, one of the best parts of the day was the afternoon shoot with Mrs. Vargetz. She was of the opinion that sitting inside would not help us to adapt quickly to their world, so the five of us, me, her, Irene and the two dogs, would usually set off on a long walk through the alleys of the colony, ending at the famous ice cream parlour of Floris and Bolt for one of the most delicious ice creams I had ever had in my life.

In addition to hearing stories about her life and why she loved and supported Muggle so much she told us various other things about her world and its gossip.

Today was no different from the rest of the day as the three of us were at a bank, each with an ice cream in hand and talking about school.

"Today was the last lesson we did together, my girls, and I'm very proud of you," she said, and we looked at her with wide eyes.

"So we won't see you again?" I asked with narrowed eyes, which made the woman across from me laugh.

"Of course you will see me again, little girl, and I teach at Hogwarts, I just won't be your only teacher there, but whatever you need, you know you'll always have someone to talk to." she said and smiled at us.

"We can pick your class too, can't we? " Irene asked in turn.

"Yes, it's one of the electives. I'll be glad to have you in my class." She said in an excited tone.

After that conversation, everyone went their separate ways, while we were now in the tavern of the inn, watching the fireplace, where a log was burning smoothly, providing heat to the room.

It's been a whole month since he left us in this inn. I don't know how much I thank God for that. The first lessons we took all this time were Seven in Counting. First was History of Magic, the most beautiful of all, but also the most difficult; second was Astronomy, which was interesting; third was Botany, which was my favorite; and fourth was Potions, which had also become a favorite class. In the other three, transformations, spells and defense against the dark arts I was relaxed because I couldn't use a wand due to Limited Energy.

Mrs. Vargetz fervently claimed that I was a Squib, that is, a child of a parent with magical powers, but this was completely impossible.

Moreover, my feelings all this time were mixed as Aphrodite was regularly communicating with my aunt and uncle, while my family not only did not communicate with me, but from a conversation I had with Aphrodite I knew something bad had happened. However, as the days grew shorter for our school admission, the evenings were getting harder and harder and the anxiety started to slowly eat away at me.

Feeling irritated about almost everything, as far as parents, friends and anything that bothered me I gave up trying to solve them and focused on the lessons that were more important than anything.

It hadn't dawned, well not yet, when loud banging sounded throughout the room, making the poor door shake with the force.

"Girls wake up! Are you still asleep?" came the thunderous voice of the school janitor.

"Um, yeah." Irene sleepily heard first Irene push hard as she got up to open the door with her eyes half closed.

Retracing her steps, with lazy movements she opened the door and into the room entered the huge man ,visibly embarrassed at the intrusion into our space.

"Why have you come here so early in the morning? Don't you ever sleep?" she said to him between yawns as she lay down again in the same position as before.

"What did you say? " he said, and made a curious face that didn't show much under his thick beard

"I don't know what exactly you're thinking or dreaming about, but you're leaving in three hours and you're not ready." He continued in an angry voice.

"Our things are ready, we just need to get dressed." I replied, yawning loudly as they tented.

"Yes Hagrid by the time you say cumin we will be ready. " Irene told him as she stood up again, this time stretching her limbs.

"Very well, get up, get ready and come downstairs, by the time you are ready there will be a light breakfast waiting for you to savour while I get your things. We leave for the station in an hour, so you must be there early to catch the train. " He said indignantly before leaving the room and closing the door.

"Thank you, Hagrid. " I said as he walked out of the room and I heard him snort as he walked away.

"Well cousin it's time. " I said excitedly and she sighed rolling her eyes boredly.
