Blood everywhere. The ceiling, the floor, the walls… everything is covered by blood. I sat in the corner of the room watching someone stabbing my mother's throat. I couldn't call out. She was screaming. What can I do…
The next time I blinked, I was staring at the ceiling wall of my room
"It's that same dream again."
When can that day stop haunting me…
I looked around and saw the room scattered with dirty clothes and homework papers. Lying down, I contemplated whether I should still go to school or not today. I was already late and there was a test I didn't study for. What a terrible day to wake up.
I got out of bed and went to the restroom. It's not like there was much I could do anyways. Pushing the test I am not gonna study for another day is not going to change the outcome of how I do anyways. I finished brushing my teeth, grabbed a piece of bread from the fridge and left. I live 10 minutes away from my school and school starts in 5 minutes.
"Whatever."
3 minutes passed. I was at my local convenience store. A place where I buy food every weekend. Ever since that day, I was all by myself, there was no one willing to look after a failing high schooler anyways. All there is in this world is me against the rest of the world…
"Cmon girl, there is still what, like 7 minutes until your school starts? How about we go somewhere fun? Just the two of us?"
I turned back to the convenient store and saw an adult male talking to a girl. She was wearing a classic Blue school uniform and a white striped skirt.
Ah. It seems she is from my school. It's pretty obvious that this guy is hitting on the girl. Now what to do…
"Please, I don't want to be late to school. Please let me go."
The man grabbed the girl's arm and pushed her towards the convenient store wall. Well, it seems that's the end of her story. Gotta get to school.
"NO PLEASE! SOMEONE HELP!"Oo
"Juni, it doesn't matter what everyone else thinks who you. It doesn't matter if they are grateful for someone else, but when someone is in trouble, it doesn't matter what you are doing. Helping others comes first priority. What comes around will come back to you. I promise."
I guess my body moved on its own. I put down my bag and ran full speed towards the man. I have never tried anything in my life ever since that day. But today, I kicked the man in the back and sent him flying in the opposite direction. I grabbed him by the collar and punched him on the face until he fainted. Wow. I didn't know I was able to do something like this. I looked at my phone. 8:05 A.M. I was already late for school. Does it really matter if I run full speed to school now?
"Are you alright? Are you hurt anywhere?"
I turned around to see the frightened girl looking down on me. She had beautiful long black hair and ocean blue eyes. Ah. Kinai Tochaki. The kind hearted idol at my school. I didn't know she lived close to me. If any boy were to see me by her side right now would probably make an enemy out of me. Of course I see her as someone beautiful, but it's better to stay out of drama as my life already isn't worth her time.
"I-i-am… alright… but more importantly! What about you?!"
"I'm fine, you should get to school now. It's already 8:05."
I stood up from the fainted man and walked back to my bag, picked it up and ran to school to wash my hands.
"What's your name!?"
In the corner of my eyes I see Kinai-san still standing facing towards me as she becomes blurry as I get farther. Should I give her my name? There were no more future interactions between us two so why should I? I kept quiet and ran faster. I saw her picking something up as she disappeared into a blob in my vision.
It's better to keep it this way. My interaction with her is nothing more than to save someone in need. Right father?
By the way for those who decided to read this garbage story, I did it out of boredom during the summer. I am by no means a good writer or storyteller and only writes for fun. Although it would be amazing for people to find this story nice but my degenerate brain has a lot in mind when writing this story. Thanks for reading though.
