Two of Me

The following days have been chaotic. Taekwondo. Band. School. Jaz. Karlee. Friends. Family.

I miss my bed already. I want to rest for a month cause I feel so tired. And it became more complicated when I am around my friends. They are still after that jerk. I can't tell Heleina about me and the band and how I ended up getting too busy lately.

"Jadis, you've been very busy lately. It's been 3 days now and we don't get to hang out anymore. Did you have too much club activities?" Chloe said while munching on the donut we bought for lunch.

"Yeah. Something like that. I was caught up to practice often in Taekwondo. You know, competition's coming and I need to get in the finals so I can compete to the nationals." It's half-true.

Well the other one is because I am part of Jaz Ford's band. I am Dylan.

But I can't tell them that. I'm so screwed.

"Oh, did you know, Dylan, Jaz's band will be having their first gig in the bar nearby. On Saturday. You want to come join us, Jadis?" Heleina said. She looks so excited about the idea.

"Nope, I can't. I have Taekwondo that day remember? But don't worry, you guys don't need to come see my fight. Their first gig is also important. I understand." I need to make them attend that so I don't need to hide from them.

"Uh, no. We will watch you first, I don't think it will start early. They said that it's around 8pm so I guess we'll still see each other by then . We will support you Jadis!" Chloe said.

"He.He.He. You really don't have to. I'll be fine."

Please. Just leave it be already. I want to make sure to do both at the same day or else I am so doomed.

"Are you sure?" Heleina asked.

"yeah. very sure. I know how much you like to watch Jaz perform so, I 'll give you time to prepare. Just enjoy the gig. "

Whew! Safe.

As the day ends, I need to attend the band practice again. It's been everyday since we started preparing for the gig on Saturday. I have to cut myself in half just to make it in time on both.

"Dylan, make it more powerful, remember how Amy Lee sang that with passion. That's how it's suppose to be. Again!"

Ok, he really is sooo annoying. But I am not Jadis , I am Dylan so I need to be more considerate.

"ok, let's wrap it up. I am gonna give out---" I have to cut him off.

"Can I leave already? I have... other club activities to attend to. "

"Like? I'm not done yet." He is really into this.

"Please. I'll get the details later, " Then without him confirming anything. I ran away from the music room. I need to be in the gym in time so I won't get any punishment.

The punishment will be severe this time.

Taekwondo is killing my body. Band is torturing my voice and my friends are killing me with questions. What will happen to me in the near future.

After days of deadly practices and committing to both activities, the day finally arrived.

"It's so sad that Taekwondo competition and Jaz's gig is happening on the same day. I wish I could see you beat the crap out all of those men." Heleina said.

"It's ok, I understand when it comes to Jaz, you guys are unstoppable. take lots of pictures ok?" I assured them then head into the gym to prepare for the tournament.

As the clock ticks little by little, I could feel the tension rising up my body. I don't know if I'll be able to make it in time or should I just start texting the band that I won't be there.

Beep Beep Beep

It's Karlee.

"Take your time. Goodluck"

It was short but sweet. I felt all the tension have gone.

It was my turn to fight. The final one, and this will be over. I can get to the gig.

"STOP! Red !"the referee said.

I rushed out of the gym, wearing my clothes for the gig, well, without the wigs, hoping I'll get there just in time.

When I arrive at the bar, I went to the wash room and put on my make up and wig. I was so much in a rush. I can hear my phone ringing endlessly.

"Where the hell are you?! It's almost our set. Arr you trying yo screw us up?" his voice is really scary.

" I'm almost there. I will see you in 5minutes"

My voice shakes because of rushing.

" make it in 1 minute! " then he hang up first.

I rushed out of the wash room and bumped into some girls.

" oh. Sorry."

This is not my lucky day

It was Chloe and Heleina.

" oh. Sorry. "

I don't want them to notice it was me. I walked as fast as I could to the back stage just to meet Karlee and the rest of the band waiting for me.

" prep up. We're next!" as always, Jaz and his rough attitude.

The gig went well. I didn't get way without his lectures. He didn't stop nagging at me about time management.

Good thing, Taekwondo class wouldn't be ro strict in attendance anymore. I can focus on the band more.

Now, who will I be, Jadis or Dylan?
