When morning came and it was the time for people to go to work, Scar noticed that many more people than usual walked through his area, He looked at them and said to Leus

"These people aren't even from my area, They're taking a detour just to see us"

Leus casually replied

"It's not a problem as long as they're not bothering me"

"Well, it sorta is ..."

"How so?"

Scar just sighed

"It doesn't matter."

A bit more time passed then Scar said

"Bones should be coming soon"

Leus nodded

"Fine, I'll go fill some more pots"

"Sure, I'll bring Bones' sword"

Leus and Scar were about to walk into Scar's home but then someone stopped them

A beautiful brown-haired girl in a red dress holding a wooden tray

"Hey"

Leus greeted her back casually

"Meli? Hey"

Scar approached her and said

"Hey again pretty one"

This time, both were clearly able to see her face redden, but they didn't say anything.

She quickly handed Leus the tray which had some cookies

"I brought you something as a thank-you gift!"

"Oh, Thank you, but there's no need. Also, Are you sure you are able to afford this?"

Meli nodded

"Now that my father is fine and that we don't have to pay protection money for some days, we had some leeway to do it"

Scar took a bite

"It tastes amazing, Did you make it?"

"Yes! I did, I'm glad that you like it"

Leus also took one and complimented her

"It's good, Thanks"

Meli smiled at them and said

"Eat it, I have to go to bring the water and do housework, But I can come again in the night to take the tray!"

Leus was about to say something but Scar spoke while the cookie was still in his mouth

"If it's about water, Just bring your buckets here and I can take care of it"

Her face brightened up, She looked at Scar and asked in a surprised voice

"Really? Are you sure?"

Scar replied instantly

"Of course! Anything for a pretty girl like you"

Scar looked at Leus and winked, Leus didn't say anything and thought to himself

'Such a simpleton'

Meli heartily thanked Scar and went home to bring her buckets, Scar and Leus just stood there eating the cookies

Leus asked in a teasing tone

"How are you going to persuade girls after I leave?"

"Well, if it's just about water then I can make someone bring it.

I'm also planning to expand my area soon so I'll be getting more resources and more people to do miscellaneous tasks for me, I honestly prefer that over money since I can't even get out to the city to spend my money.

I need more men."

"You thought about it thoroughly huh?"

The cookies were over so Leus took the tray and went inside Scar's house to fill the pots, Scar followed him to bring Bones' sword

'Let's be done with the pots that will have Cleansing and Healing spells first and then create Mana Augmentation potions'

Leus arranged the pots and explained to Scar which is which, About 80% of the pots were now full, and Leus had to spend 40% of his Mana to fill them.

'Filling the rest of the pots and making sure that Bones and Scar train properly are the only things left for me here, I can probably leave by tomorrow.

Then I'd spend a day or two at home and go to the Library, If I'm just a day late for Arno then it won't be an issue'

Leus and Scar went back outside and sat to drink, A couple of minutes later, Kyle and Kenton showed up, One of them said

"Hey Boss and Saint"

Leus shook his head

"Saint? Nah nah, Just call me Leus"

The other brother fiercely refused

"No way we can disrespect a Saint, Our grandfather would come back to haunt us."

Leus tried to convince them but they were adamant about it

Leus eventually gave up

'I can't win against superstitions.'

"Fine, Call me whatever you want"

By that time, Meli came back with her buckets

Scar smiled at her and said

"The cookies were so good we ate all of it, Put the buckets here and come inside I'll give you the tray"

She put the buckets down and walked behind Scar, He entered the house and she stood at the door

Leus filled the buckets and looked at them, They had a small conversation on the door while Scar gave her the tray and she smiled, Then she went to Leus to take the buckets

"Thank you so much again, No matter what I do, I can't repay your favors."

"Don't worry about it"

Before she carried the Buckets Scar pointed at one of the brothers and said

"You, Carry the buckets and take her home"

"Yes boss"

Once again, Meli thanked both Leus and Scar then she left

After she left the brother that was staying behind just kept filling drinks for Leus and Scar while they were conversing

"You are really trying to impress her huh?"

"Yeah, I'm in a pretty good mood"

"Really now?"

The red-haired guy asked

"Is the Boss in love?"

Scar glared at him and Leus just chuckled

A bit later, Bones finally came

Scar looked at him and said in a slightly annoyed tone

"You're late, Bones"

"Yeah, Scar, Something is up with The Butchers."

Scar's tone and demeanor immediately became serious

"The butchers? What is it?"

"A while ago, I caught one of them suspiciously walking around this area.

When he saw me he tried to escape but I caught him, I beat him and sent him back to his area.

He didn't say what he was doing here, but since he didn't bother anyone I went easy on him."

Leus' interest was piqued

"Who are The Butchers?"

Scar replied

"They're a very violent gang that's controlling the area next to this"

Leus narrowed his eyes

'That's troublesome ....'

Leus' tone became serious as well

"Do you need help?"
