Lucian's plan [2]

Inside the elevator which was as spacious as one large room, several people were looking at Lucian.

There was a chubby merchant with his guards, a female knight with silver hair along with four other knights wearing red capes, and several adventurers.

However, none of the said anything. They didn't know what Lucian did at the entrance, so they thought that he was just another eccentric adventurer. There was a certain number of such people in the city after all.

What attracted their attention was mostly Lucian's outfit, as he looked out of place in that luxurious room, and everyone wore decent clothes and more on the fashionable side, considering the city's standard. Even the knights' armor and the adventurer looked stylish. compared to him.

"Who are you?" The chubby merchant couldn't help but mutter these words seeing that Lucian was sitting on the chair next to him. He and his guards didn't notice Lucian arriving.

There was a bar inside the elevator as it may take fifty minutes to go to the upper level.

There were also comfortable-looking chairs, tables, and even a smoking area.

There was also a transparent wall that gave a fantastic view of the scenery as the elevator moved up.

"I am a fellow merchant," Lucian said, taking several blood-red stones from his bag. "Call me Red. I will give you a discount if you take more than three. I think you are experienced enough to see the authenticity of my product."

Lucian displayed the stones by putting them in between his fingers and reaching out his hand in front of the chubby merchant's face. He observed the merchant carefully.

The chubby merchant was still suspicious of Lucian but his curiosity led him to examine the stones that were presented in front of his eyes.

"These are…" The merchant knew what the stones were and his eyes widened.

The merchant wasn't even a stone appraiser, he was an armor seller, but he knew that these stones were valuable.

The knights and the other people inside the room all looked at Lucian, listening to his conversation with the merchant. They all forgot about his unusual appearance after a few minutes.

"I like violence. Do you know what that means?"

But all of a sudden, a huge bulky man with blonde hair and mustaches who was sitting arrogantly on one of the chairs raised his voice.

He didn't wear anything on the upper half of his body, displaying his ripped muscles. However, a red coat was hanging on his shoulders. There were two heavy-looking golden armbands on his wrist, and a huge golden bet wrapped around his hip.

He was sitting on the chair that was situated across the transparent wall but the adventurers were standing behind the chair where another man was sitting.

The man had that unwavering smile on his face. He had white hair and was dressed in a black costume and wore a pair of white gloves. He had the aura of noble.

"What did you say?" The adventurers wearing shiny armor plates behind the white-haired man reacted to the bulky man's words. These adventurers looked more equipped than your average hunter.

"I like violence," the bulky man said.

"So what?" The adventurers didn't understand what the bulky man tried to say.

The bulky man had become the center of attention. Even Lucian's attention was attracted by the sudden commotion.

"You are blocking my view," the bulky continued, "And violence is effective in getting rid of everything that stands in my way. That's why I like violence."

"Are you messing with us?" The adventurers were confused by the man's words and somehow his arrogant attitude annoyed them.

"Messing with you? You think you are worth my time?" The man stood up abruptly and the room was suddenly filled with tremendous pressure. He was really arrogant.

The knights reacted, as well as the adventurers. It was clear that this bulky man wasn't your average hunter either.

But then the white-haired who was sitting across raised his hand, signaling the adventurers behind him to move away.

"Why don't you stand there like that? I have already asked them to move out of the way. By standing like that, you will be able to enjoy the view," the white-haired man said, with an unsettling smile on his face.

"Fair enough. But I don't like your attitude," the bulky man glared at the white-haired man.

'This is interesting,' Lucian thought, looking at both of them.

By causing a scene at the entrance, Lucian would attract a lot of attention, and by the time he finished investigating the royal palace, he would be already surrounded by soldiers and adventurers. Then, he would proceed with the rest of his plan.

However, after seeing these adventurers inside the elevator, he proceeded to make some changes to his plan.

There were new elements that he needed to take into account, all for the sake of gathering a group of people that he could use to increase the chance for Rita to evolve by putting her in an environment suitable for her development. And also to complete the first part of his plan.

Because apart from Rita, he was also looking for more potential candidates. He always prepared multiple options beforehand to be able to be ready for any kind of development.

"This is not the place to act like kids," the silver-haired woman interrupted, her voice devoid of fear and cold, even though she was talking to the bulky man and the white-haired man. "If you want to play, go somewhere else."

Hearing her words, everyone looked at her, and even the knights that were beside her looked uneasy.

"Woman. Violence is fair to all. That's why I like it. Why don't you show me if you are grown up enough to enjoy the taste of violence?" The bulky talked with a voice full of arrogance, and the interior elevator started to shake.

Everyone else looked tense apart from the white-haired man and the female knight.

"Now, now. I like your unusual point of view on violence but don't interrupt my business."

Suddenly, a hand grabbed the bulky man's shoulder, forcing him to sit back on his chair. The man couldn't move, as if all of his strength left his body.

Lucian tapped the bulky man's shoulder lightly with a cryptic smile on his face.

No one noticed when he appeared behind the bulky man, but at that time, their impression of Lucian changed.
