The Alpha's Human Luna

Nancy Neo was a wanderer, oh yes a restless soul drifting through cities and towns, never tethered to one place for long, she was like a tree with no root. When her family chose to settle in Akin City, a place whispered to be a sanctuary of peace and promise Nancy hoped, for once, to find a semblance of belonging. But beneath Akin City’s polished front lay shadows deeper than she could imagine. Nancy’s days were ordinary, her nights lonelier still, as she wandered the unfamiliar streets, yearning for something she couldn’t name. Little did she know, the modern world she inhabited held an ancient secret. Among the greatest of these: werewolves lived among them, hidden in plain sight, their true nature masked by human guise. One fateful evening, curiosity drew Nancy beyond the city’s borders into the wild fringes of the land. The air was electric under a full moon’s gaze, and the forest seemed to pulse with an energy both intoxicating and forbidden. There, in a hidden glade, she stumbled upon a sight that would alter her life forever—a pack of werewolves celebrating beneath the argent glow, their howls a haunting fear that sent shivers racing down her spine. She thought she was invisible, cloaked by the shadows of the trees. But the pack’s alpha a figure of raw power and grace caught her scent. As the alpha’s gaze locked onto hers, Nancy froze. The breath she had been holding escaped in a startled gasp as recognition struck like lightning. It was Baby, her lover. The truth slammed into her like a chillwave, pulling her into a whirl of disbelief, fear, and heartbreak. Baby wasn’t just a werewolf—he led them. The man she had trusted, the one she thought she knew, was a creature of the night. Caught at the crossroads of two worlds, one fragile and familiar, the other untamed and feral. Nancy was forced to confront the impossible. Could she reconcile her love for Baby with the monstrous truth of his existence? But Akin City held more secrets, and Nancy was about to uncover her own. Beneath the surface of her prosaic life lay a destiny she never anticipated, a path sprinkled with danger, desire, and a power she never knew she possessed. In a city that promised safety, Nancy would learn that peace is an illusion and sometimes, the greatest threats are the ones that lurk within. The moon whispers secrets to those who listen, but beware some truths are meant to remain hidden.

Confidence

Nancy's POV

"You do not scare me?" Not that I cared, to hell with her. I rolled my eyes up and stared at her, walking past her without a word, still clutching my backpack.

"Stop right there!" She grabbed my bag from behind and pulled me back, causing me to fall. Roland and Betty help me back on my feet while I look around for any sight of Baby. He didn't leave me alone with my fate, right?

"I was talking to you little girl," she howls.

"Well this 'little girl' as you call it has a name and unfortunately she has no business with you," I rambled looking straight into her eyes, well I need to finish what I started I can't look weak now.

"Whoa! She has an attitude. I like that, Baby's pet," she seems to be enjoying making fun of me.

"I'm no one's pet and leave me the hell alone. Roland, Betty let's go," I ordered walking away from them, holding my breath.

"Now I understand why he likes you, differently good. I'm in a good mood today but I'm not sure if you will be lucky the next time we crash. Watch your back. We don't want you getting hurt," She grins when Anastasia and Emily give me a goofy look and walk away.

"That was close Nancy," Betty took a deep breath as I let out a relief sigh yeah it was close.

"Yes, I was scared to death for you," Roland pats my shoulder as we leave the premises. Roland drove away in his car while I was taking Betty home. And I still couldn't believe I stood up for myself, I don't even know how I managed to do that. She was only making fun of me or perhaps she has a hidden agenda all the same I need to be careful.

*******************************

It's been days and Baby hasn't reported to the school. Nancy is worried.

"Seriously, Betty, is that how they usually disappear like that? I am worried about him," Nancy was concerned.

"Don't be, they do this most often," Roland whispered, trying to get Nancy to relax.

"He can take care of himself. Worry about yourself, dear Nancy Neo,"

"Roland, you think I enjoy getting into trouble right? Yesterday, for instance, I found my locker full of trash, we both know who's behind it. I simply don't know how to get Ashley and her stupid cousins off my back,"

Speaking of the devil, here she comes. Nancy and her friends left class before facing Ashley and her lapdogs.

In the hallway, towards the canteen. "Nancy misses her little defense attorney," Betty teased.

"Oh no, that's not it, I'm just worried,"

"Be careful you don't fall for him," Roland whispered from behind, his hands in his pockets.

"Seriously Roland, I'm being serious," Nancy giggled, she pulled the chair in front of her and sat down. Roland and Betty took a seat next to her.

"Order some snacks?" Betty suggested.

"Without them the school is peaceful. I can't believe you're the only one who wants them to be here," Roland takes his book and begins to read.

Betty is impatient for her order.

"For crying out loud, they are human beings which it is natural for one to care," Nancy bangs her bag on the table.

"Ok, you're right. I'm sorry we better stop talking about them. How about if we talk about something else?" Roland whispered calming Nancy down.

"What else is there to talk about?" Betty whimpered angrily at the delay in her order. "What is taking them so long?" she complains.

"Chemistry, chemicals, potions is that alright?" Nancy stumbles upon finding the best excuse to leave. As soon as Roland starts talking about these things he doesn't stop.

"Well, that's more interesting,"

"I'll be right back," Nancy informed.

"Are you skipping class?" Roland asked putting away his book.

"No, I'm not skipping class ok just going for a walk," Nancy was about to leave.

"When you say that, you get me worried. Who knows you might run into Ashley and her stupid cousins," Betty whimper.

"Alright I know you are just looking out for me, thank you for being a good friend but I can take care of myself." Nancy snaps.

"Can you?"

"You have Alina, Roses, and her friends at your back, and now you have Ashley, her two cousins, and brothers adding to the list. Wait till you meet the other one," Roland pointed out why Nancy can't be seen alone.

"she has another brother besides Bob and Dan?" Betty asked in surprise.

"Yes his name is Leo, he disappears frequently. No's know where he goes,"

"This town is really strange, Betty since your dad is a police officer. Do people file missing person?" Nancy asked adjusting herself in the chair.

"You are crazy. Who said someone ever goes missing in this town? Don't tell me you plan on filing a missing person for Baby," Betty said as she dive the pizza into her mouth.

"Ideally that should be the right thing to do. It's been 5 days and no one knows where he is," Nancy grumble.

"Roland talk to her she has gone completely crazy," Betty replied.

"Not with this again, I'm sure he's super fine wherever he is. If not causing trouble or harm to others," Roland announced.

"Baby is harmless," "ok if you say so?" Roland went back to reading his book. He didn't want to keep arguing with Nancy about someone she barely knows.

Ding… Ding…ding. Nancy's phone rang.

"Hello mum," Nancy speaks on the phone with her mum, she had a disappointed face. Roland and Betty draw closer to know what was wrong.

"Ok mum. Bye. I love you too," and she hangs up the phone.

"Is everything ok Nancy?" Roland asked.

"Yes, my mum and dad will be out of town for a few days," she whimpers.

"I guess I'm having the house to myself,"

"If you're scared you could stay at my place," Roland offered "no thanks," Nancy replied sharply.

"Why do you always reject visiting my house?"

"I'm sorry, but your house looks terrifying,"

"Nancy, you are not afraid of Baby but my house," "thanks for the offer but I'm good. I'm used to being alone anyway," Nancy said.

Nancy's POV

I went to an empty house, after school. I was worried and yes I'm scared to be alone. I have no choice. I wonder what mum and dad are up to again.

I hate it when they don't tell me anything and still treat me like a child. Late at night, I took a walk in the woods as always hoping to meet Baby.

"Hey what are you doing here so late at night?" A group of people asked.

"Hello, I'm going for a walk," I stumble.
